Casa Tapatia — Restaurant in Metropolis

The name of the restaurant now is called El Taquila. It is fantastic. The guy, I think his name is Samuel, that runs it, really knows what he is doing. I just posted some pictures of the steaks we ordered. 10 Ribeyes. They were awesome!!! Cooked to absolute perfection. If his other food wasn't so good , I would tell him to be a steak restaurant! Sorry Paducah steak places....you just aren't keeping up. Head to Metropolis to El Taquila Mexican Restaurant, next door to Sonic and across from Fort Massac State Park. By the way, at the time of this posting, that steak dinner was $12.99!!!! Yeah! And now it's Feb. 2nd, 2022, and we just got another steak. It was STILL cooked to perfection by the same man! Horrible food. I came here on a Thursday night at dinnertime and it was empty. The chips were good. The salsa was heated up so it tasted like marinara sauce. I came here with a group of people; we all got something different and no one liked their food. My boyfriend asked for two different things from the menu and they didn't have either one, so he didn't get anything. The steak in the steak quesadilla was old and dry, and the cheese they used on everything tasted like old plastic. The refried beans were definitely from a can. My beef taco was okay and the vegetables were fresh. My friend liked his margarita and ordered another one. The wait staff seemed attentive, but probably because we were the only ones there. Not the greatest food this time. My daughter couldn't eat her chicken and rice because it was saturated in their cheese. My friend didn't have enough cheese on her food and very little veggies.
