Food Lion — Local services in Metter

In my honest and fair opinion, don't waste your time going to this location. I gave one star rating simply because the doors were open and there is a rare chance that you may find what you're looking for. I have shopped in provisional stores in 3rd world countries that are better stocked than this food lion. Of the multiple times that I have shopped there, not once have I found everything that I went to purchase. I won't even bother going in depth on the outrageous prices they charge as they are the only full service (allegedly) grocery store in this town, so they know that they will get away with it. In my opinion, the entire management staff should be fired immediately, as I seriously doubt it would even be noticed. Any competent management would certainly understand that the main staples that are needed regularly by the community in which you serve should be adequately stocked daily. This simple practice has evidently eluded any current management that may be currently filling the seat.

Update: This location has been remodeled to a certain degree and management seems to have a somewhat better idea as to the everyday needs of the community in which it serves. It seems like they are making an honest attempt to stock the necessities and improve their customer service department. Prices are still above average in comparison to similar grocery stores in other cities. However, because of their attempts and efforts, I will raise my rating on this location to 3 stars. I hope to see them earn 5 stars...

Update: As of 9/5/2024 I have not received any feedback from Food Lion Corp. I called and sent an email. It's sad that a company like Food Lion doesn't make any effort to acknowledge a customer for many years. Not anymore we will shop elsewhere. Real good customer appreciation Food Lion. NOT

One employee is the only reason the score is a 1 star. Your hours are until 10pm, I'm sorry we were 935p(Sunday 6/9/24) checking out. But whomever the young Hispanic girl was bagging groceries needs to be fired. The way she slammed my groceries around huffing and puffing the whole time until I said something. Then we got back home to Claxton and discovered we were missing all the produce we bought. But we were charged for it. The store is clean and usually well stocked, unless you go in between the 1st and the 3rd of the month :) The staff is friendly, helpful and quick at the checkout. The checkouts are fully staffed during the busy times and not a self checkout in sight (very good). Product selection is as good as the size of the store allows. When looking for a special item they are willing to order it for you.
