My shopping and Trade-in Experiences

1. My first visit was because I need a Profoto flash trigger ASAP and they had what I needed in stock. Initially I checked to see if they had the trigger for Sony used or for rent and unfortunately they didn’t. I purchased a new trigger with the help of Kathleen. I also picked up a sensor cleaning kit. And browsed the store.
2. My next visit was to trade in some of my rarely used gear that was collecting dust. I worked with Cesar and he explained what they would take and informed me of the over all amount I would receive for the gear. For me the amount was fair and I used the money to offset the cost of a new Sony G Master lens. They did ask if I wanted to buy a lens filter and I declined, to my surprise they didn’t go back and forth a million times like other camera stores trying to get me to buy something I didn’t want. Note * don’t come in with used gear and expect an prices for the gear in 10 mins. They need to do a full inspection to sure they aren’t buying broken or unusable equipment. They did exceed the amount of time they told me it would take, but I called before returning because it’s a 40 minute drive for me.
3. One my 3rd visit I needed to exchange and item from a previous I picked up some grip equipment and browsed through their used equipment. Because this is a long drive I sat in the car and browsed their site just make sure I didn’t need anything else or just in case if I didn’t see something on the shelves maybe I would see it on line. Some how I got the itch to get another Sony G Master lens. It was at closing time and the owner basically said its my lucky day and knocked off more money than the current Sony discount. I was an offer I couldn’t refuse. I worked with Andres during these perchance and he was extremely helpful and was able to answer all the question I had.

Overall shopping experience I never had anyone follow me around the store. I’ve had few people ask me if I needed assistance but nothing that was annoying. It was more like “I see you here and I’m here to help”. The Store is well organized with each brand having its own section so you can go directly to the what you are looking for and not have to waste time They always offer water or coffee and gave me space or give me all the attention I need when I start asking questions.

My only problems is I can only go there at certain times of the day/week because of the Miami traffic. If it was an easy drive I’d probably go in there...

If I could give 10 stars, I would. AVC is hands-down the Holy Grail of camera stores in South Florida.
