Recently I purchased a Scout Olympic truck camper from Nook Overland in Yellow Springs, Ohio. If you are considering a Scout camper and want excellent customer service and over the top support after the purchase look no further than Mike and his team at Nook Overland. They have exceeded my expectations by far.

I traveled from Georgia to pick it up scheduling a Saturday morning to do so and Mike Mortell, the owner, couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. His shop is impeccably clean and organized and the cinnamon rolls from a local bakery and the delicious coffee were perfect.

My new unit was prepped and ready for inspection when I arrived. Mike and his shop technical assistant walked me patiently through each aspect and functionality of the camper answering my questions thoroughly.

We then loaded my new Olympic camper onto my F-250 for the first time. I had never loaded a truck camper before and they went slowly describing each step they were doing and making sure I understood it.

From my initial interest phone call with Mike about the camper and what kind of truck would be best to carry it all the way to today, over two weeks later, he has been extremely helpful, patient and responsive assisting me in resolving all questions I've had about the camper. Even a few issues that were mainly related to my inexperience with truck campers that were user error on my part which became obvious after the fact. His knowledge and experience with them is immense.

UPDATE:

Today marks the one year anniversary of purchasing my 2024 Olympic from Lark Overland. Mike Mortell and his team there have done several upgrades for me to include a 12 volt electrical system, rooftop AC install and an additional outside storage case mounted on the truck fender. Their attention to detail and service after the purchase have been excellent!

I looked at several different models before purchasing the Olympic and I know I made the right choice. Mike and his team at Lark have helped make the owning experience a superb one.

In the last year I’ve spent about 45 nights in the camper with one of my dogs as a travel companion and it has exceeded my expectations. After owning a 25ft travel trailer for years the amount of freedom and ability to expand my adventures the Olympic gives me over the trailer are greatly appreciated.

In January I plan my first multi-week adventure traveling from Georgia to Arizona by way of Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas and New Mexico. Next summer it’s off to Montana for a month at least. Looking forward to what I see and find along the way on each one. It’s nice to know that if I have any questions about the camper during the trips Mike and his team will be just a text or phone call away...

We purchase our Scout camper at Nook about a month ago. We spent approx 1 year researching what to buy and when we decided on a Scout Yoho, then it was WHO to buy from. We landed on Mike Mortell’s Nook Overland because he had LIVED in his camper for about 2 years, has a YouTube channel with a lot of great information, and due to his passion and experience, decided to launch a career evolving around Scout! Mike was very available to answer questions, troubleshooting pros and cons of various add ons, designs and details and basically has stellar customer care etiquette! He, and his team, really care and are exceptionally knowledgeable about every detail of Scout, including its history! We purchased the Scout on a Wed and then went to a nearby beautiful park to “try it out” at our request AND Mike’s suggestion. That enabled us to do just that and then return to Nook in the morning with a few more questions and get more insights from Mike and his team! Mike & Dani not only met but exceeded my customer service expectations. Having followed these folks on YT, it excited me when they opened their own business selling the high quality line of Scout campers. Over the past 3 months, I explored purchasing a camper from them based on their long-term experiences living and traveling in a Scout camper. Not only helpful with the camper selection process but also in providing me with the benefit of their knowledge of the required vehicle selection. After 25 back-and-forth emails and a few off-hours phone calls, I reluctantly decided not to move forward with a purchase for personal reasons.
