Autumn Gold — Local services in Middlebury

I had my engagement ring appraised here for my homeowners insurance policy back in February. Today I met with the jeweler who recommended me to Autumn Gold for the appraisal. During our conversation, another ring I was wearing came up, and I asked if it would be worth appraising it. The other jeweler gave me a rough value, and I sat gob smacked and said to him that I was stunned that the little tiny gold ring with a small ruby on it was appraised for more than my engagement ring. He looked stunned and confused. I told the other jeweler what Autumn Gold appraised the ring at and he was horrified. Autumn Gold had under appraised my ring by over $3000. If my ring had gone missing, I would’ve been screwed for a replacement because Autumn Gold only appraised for the value of the gems (even under appraised those) rather than the value of the cut of the ring and the metals involved. Do not take your appraisals here. This man clearly does not know what he’s talking about. Not only that, but he doesn’t hold onto any of the documentation of the appraisals afterwards so he has no document files saved, which makes ZERO sense because a Microsoft document takes up less than a megabyte of space, and is also illegal if this man is actually accredited to be doing appraisals. They’re required to hang onto appraisals for 3-5 YEARS. If you value your jewelry, take it elsewhere.

The designing required a lot of back and forth via email over a few months. I was extremely appreciative of David's patience throughout the process, and the finalized ring really came together in a piece of art that we were both proud of (especially my now fiance). The interaction I had with David and the rest of the staff throughout my ring purchase was fantastic; I couldn't of hoped for any better of a scenario for my purchase. The customer service here was phenomenal! I stopped in today to have an extra link added to my watch band. The gentleman was very knowledgeable as well as patient while carrying my requests. They cleaned my engagement ring and did a much more thorough job than Zales where I bought the ring. I also purchased a ring, and the gentleman who helped me was a pleasure to work with. He was able to order it and have it to me- God willing- before I leave town. He gave me great advice on self cleaning my ring and provided me with a cleaning kit.
