The Rooms at The Stone Mill — Hotel in Middlebury

We had a wonderful stay at the Stone Mill. This historic landmark building was recently renovated to incorporate rooms with ensuite bathrooms on the top floor. Elevator access and ADA accessible, I enjoyed The River Suite, which is spacious, serene, so clean, and bright. The modern furnishings have a calming Scandinavian aesthetic, with no old Grandma vibe whatsoever.||The owners provide lovely amenities like luxe towels and premium bath products; the Public Market downstairs made our impromptu wine and snacks an easy fix in the common area that connects to the Rooms. It is quiet yet close to everything, an easy walk to Middlebury College.||The bonus is ample outdoor seating alongside the Otter Creek, which was so scenic and "Vermonty." I stayed by myself in the Cathedral Room. The room was clean, had nice linens and very comfortable bed. The room was perfect size for one person but might be tight for two. I have never rented just a room so it was a different experience. There is no front desk. Everything was done by email with codes for the front door, elevator and room. It was a bit dark at night at the elevator to the rooms. There is a nice common area but I didn’t see any other quests. It turned out a friend’s glowing recommendation of The Rooms at the Stone Mill was not glowing enough! ||Our room was both stunning and impeccably clean. The staff could not have been friendlier, more courteous, more welcoming. The Rooms at the Stone Mill is perfectly located making everywhere we wanted to go and everything easily accessible.
