Therafit Rehab — Local services in Middletown Township

When Tom had his stroke this year our world caved in. We spent 47 days in an Acute rehab trying to relearn all the things that we do as human beings and take for granted; swallowing, feeling, talking, touching, walking...to name a few. After a couple of weeks of in home therapy we were ready for outpatient. Therafit Rehab was recommended to us before we left the inpatient facility; I kept calling to let them know we were coming. I was needless to say relentless in making sure we had a spot. Whether Sue or Sara answered they were always so polite and reassuring that they were there for us and hadn’t even met us yet. We have now been there since July 26th. Tom improves every day ! His walking and gait are so much better thanks to Jamie and Trish’s unending physical therapy exercises. Not to mention their commitment to seeing him through his therapy even when he doesn’t want to. Their personalities are strong, confident and so very caring. His brain is rewiring with all the occupational therapy from Sarah and Ashley! Amazing progress in a left arm and hand that was virtually useless. They go above and beyond in the extra care and their “Push through ways” , they make him feel like he can do it and he does!! Depression is very common with stroke patients and I have to say that when Tom walks in those doors his whole demeanor changes. These caring, brilliant people make him feel like he’s the only one in the room and treat him with respect. Tom feels like he can accomplish all his goals and he sees the light ahead because of this team of individuals. We are blessed to have them on our team! Sarah has done a phenomenal job in my Stroke recovery! She always pushes me and steers me towards my goals! I have just started working with Patricia and she has the same drive as Sarah. Always pushing me to be the best that I can be. I'm in the facility for 90 minutes and the time just flies! All the staff are highly qualified and I have fun at the same time. I came to TheraFit Rehab 5 months after being shot in the Las Vegas mass shooting. I am 28 years old and lost midbility of my leg.
