Folks, this place is what aquidneck island is truly about: supporting a local purveyor of exquisite meats and produce. This shop "GETS IT." You walk in, and while seemingly small, it isn't. They have EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING.
Their meats are spectacular, their prepared foods are delicious, and their gourmet selection is so on point that I, as a Newport summer resident, go nowhere else for specialty items.
I recognize other establishments have opened within the past couple of years. That's fine. Free enterprise. This establishmentis... oh, I'm sorry.... I forgot to mention THE BEST CHEESE SELECTION..... Sorry, I digress,,,, This establishment "gets" what this environment is all about. Local, customer number one, and SPECTACULAR PRODUCT. I had the owner ship salad dressing to Florida a year ago, and she called me regarding the outrageous shipping fee, apologizing.... REALLY? I said NO WORRIES, THANK YOU FOR YOUR KINDNESS AND THE CONCERN OVER COST.

There were two very thin slices of RB on the sandwich and I couldn't even taste it! Everything else was wonderful, great bread, cheese, SERVICE WITH A SMILE :-), but the amount of the meat was truly disappointing. They used to make the sandwiches fresh for you but when I called I was told they were too busy to do that today. OK, I get that, but if you're going to charge $9 for a RB sandwich, I'd like to be able to taste it. I will definitely try them again because I like to support our local "mom & pop" shops. I just hope I'm not...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I just moved right up the road from this shop and a friend recommended that we check it out. Neither of us know much about cheese, but the woman helping at the cheese counter was so friendly and helpful. She allowed us to sample the cheeses before purchase and made recommendations to help my indecisiveness. We also got a jar of the fig jam they carry and a pint of Jeni’s ice cream. Everything was amazing! We returned a week later to buy some more cheese and received the same friendly, helpful service from a different employee. We’re looking forward to trying some of the meats and I’m sure we’ll be back this weekend for...
