I visited this location for the first time today and when I entered there were two staff attending the customers. One was at the register cashing out a customer and another was at the bakery attending another customer. There was one other customer that was seated and appeared to be waiting. I walked up to the counter because I had ordered ahead. I waited patiently to be asked if I needed assistance and neither of the two women greeted me or asked if I needed anything, so I waited more and sat at the stool closest to the cash register. The woman serving the customer at the bakery display (tattooed sleeves) brought her customer over to the cash register. I said hi and she looked and me and said hi back. Again, not acknowledging me at all. Then once her customer was cashed out she turned around and said nothing to me. The other woman serving asked another customer in line if she could help her. I said I was here first. At that point the woman with the tattoos (wearing a mask) opened her eyes widely at me and continued to stare. I asked her if something was wrong and she answered "no, why?" I said because your looking at me with wide eyes and all I said was I was here first. The other woman who was there apologized and said that she didn't attend to me because she saw me sitting down. I told that woman it was fine and she proceeded to ring me up. The woman with the tats continued to stare and furrowed her brow at me repeatedly. She also loudly attended the other customer that was waiting on the stool and told her to have a joyful day. Rude. Plain and simple. Needs an attitude adjustment. The...
Read moreJust stopped by this morning. I normally only leave positive reviews - owning a small business is hard. That being said, I was extremely disappointed by my experience. I ordered two cinnamon rolls (which came quickly & are delicious) & a bacon / egg / cheese on sour dough. After the server took our to go order, a few people came in. The staff quickly became overwhelmed. My egg sandwich sat at the pass for five minutes before either of the servers acknowledged its presence. Then they couldn’t figure out what the sandwich was or who it was ordered by. I stood right by the pickup window, knowing it was mine. I waited in a hot bakery for 15 minutes for an egg sandwich. When I got home (5 minute drive) the egg sandwich fell apart (literally). The bread wasn’t toasted. The egg was unseasoned. The bacon was wet. We paid over $10 for the egg sandwich alone. Definitely a bad first experience. Such a disappointing experience given their baked goods seem to be their...
Read moreThis review is for the Newport location. My parents ordered a mocha cake for our St. Patrick's Day dinner and were very disappointed with the experience. After waiting for the shop to open, they were waited on. The woman behind the counter mentioned that the mocha cakes were coming out dry. My parents thought it was odd that their order wasn't preboxed. The cake was taken out of the display case. Instead of waiting till they got home to find out if the cake was dry, she offered to cut the cake open to make sure that wasn't the case. The cake was not dry. It was a stale cake. The layers even separated from one another. They did get their money back for the cake however they heard the woman say "I shouldn't have said anything." On top of that, they saw an ant walking across the counter. As much as we'd like to be able to have mocha cakes again, we don't feel comfortable ordering a cake from...
