Update: Managers Jim, Adam, & Megan at 2 stores found my order. It was at a different store than I had set on the app as "my store". Between them & several nice people at Corporate, my order was delivered & issues w/ a few items fixed by Adam personally delivering replacements to my house. A woman at Corp. who was trying to help get the items delivered also removed the amt they charged for "same day delivery". So, once I was able to speak with store managers & people at the Corporate office, the problem was resolved. Many thanks to those who tracked the order down & did whatever "behind the scenes magic" they did in order to get the order to me. Original review: Still waiting on my "same day" delivery from yesterday that was supposedly ready at 12:58 pm (as per the email/text they initially sent to me). I called the store after abt 4 hrs & was told they couldn't help at all, I had to call 1-800-Michaels. I did & was on the phone a fairly long time & finally told my order was at the store (he said he checked to make sure all 70 of the items I ordered were still in my order. I had added more than that while using the app, but it kept changing items from ship to home to either not available or online shipping instead, so I had to keep going to my checkout & removing those items - took a very long time & was very frustrating) & a delivery person would definitely bring the order to my home soon & before the store closed. Didn't happen & didn't hear another word from them. Why did the app offer & charge me for same day delivery for the fairly large order I placed (total abt $400) & then proceed to not insure delivery was made & just ignore me? I'm really disgusted with the difficulty of the app & even moreso the awful...
Read moreMy first time shopping at this location since they changed their checkout area. It is now three giant screen self checkout kiosks and one tiny normal checkout. I approached that one (which had an associate standing behind it) and she cut me off before I could say anything to say, “You have to use self checkout.” I incredulously asked, “I have to?” And she sneered at me and answered back in a sarcastic and snippy tone that I did unless I was paying cash.
Stores that force customers to use self-checkout instead of giving both options are typically the bottom of the barrel in terms of both quality and price. Michael’s isn’t charging Walmart or Dollar Store prices - far from it - so I don’t know why they think eliminating customer service is going to win them any business.
I will go out of my way to shop at other craft stores...
Read moreThis store is bright and typically quiet. In quiet I mean not as busy as the Michael's on Midlothian by the mall. I shop at Michael's for their beads, string and jewelry findings. They have a great selection for jewelry makers. They do have coupons and sales on a regular basis. They do have a rewards program that's free to sign up. They offer classes, usually there about cake design or jewelry design. Classes vary in prices, usually online though they give all the details. You can even sign up online for the classes but need to do it 24 hrs prior to the class. You can still usually get in the class though even if you didn't sign up prior. They offer kid classes too, majority of them are free. They even have a little camp during spring break and summer for kids. The staff are...
