Went here with my family last Friday for dinner since my wife wanted sushi and this place had Ramen that looked amazing in the pictures. I can confidently say that both sushi and ramen were delicious and made fresh. Their kids menu was simple with 3 options, mac and cheese, popcorn shrimp and fries or hamburger. Went for the shrimp and mac and cheese and they loved it. Even I had to steal a few bites. It was all made fresh and to order. A feature I absolutely love in a small local place. The name itself does not give away that it’s an Asian restaurant but man does it deliver.. I will note that this place opens for a short amount of time and I think that’s kind of what makes it special. A bit limited seating, but clean and welcoming. I’m pretty sure the owners are also the chefs too so they have a real sense of food reactions. The wait staff were also great and very helpful when we came in with the kids. I got the kimchi ramen and it was fire….so delicious and spiced at the same time but I couldn’t stop eating it. My wife got the sushi combo and that was amazing too. A bit of a hidden gem and I dig it. Would recommend to those with an adventurous palette or just love Asian food in general. Great little place all around.

Although the pork for our ramen was Dangerously spoiled and smelled horrible the manager quickly addressed the issue with no surprise that it was spoiled. My wife got sick from the bite she did take later that night. 🤢 🚽 Customer service was good and although our meal were below average we still tipped 22% she didn’t her best. The restaurant is very tight and you feel like you are in a friends kitchen. It’s definitely worth a visit but as great as the Ramen looks online it was average. The noodle tasted old or fried. So I would not recommend coming here for their ramen. Fried chicken cutlet on top of liquid? Really? Who wants soggy chicken? 🫤 The place got packed quickly and if you are still concerned about contracting COVID then you might want to call first or go prior to 6pm. Which we were happy that we did because they require reservations after 6pm? Ok. That’s understandable. Once again, check them out and judge for yourself. They seem popular to the area for other foods. Just avoid the over prices ramen.

Arrived 5 pm Thur, 3 adults 2 kids seated right away. Only one waitress and 1 cook, so slow service. We came for sushi but it took 1 hour to get first rolls. The cheaper Philly roll and others $8-9.99 were bland and did not taste fresh. Tiger Roll, Vegas roll, and other more expensive rolls $12.00 or more tasted fresh. Ordered grouper for kids but what we got did taste anything like grouper but more like cod. The crab cake sandwich appeared to be premade from a frozen paddy along with frozen fries. Does not deserve 4 star rating that lead us here.

We had a terrible experience here, which I originally posted to Yelp and explained. Our waitress was incredibly rude and clearly had attitude with us from the jump. We ordered a few rolls of sushi and a few sandwiches which took an hour to be served despite less than 5 other people being in the restaurant. They forgot to bring one of the rolls, and the waitress rudely remarked "the chef only has 2 hands" when we tried to politely give her the heads up that we were still waiting on it many minutes after other food was finally brought to the table.

I'd be willing to overlook service if food was actually good, but it wasn't. Nobody in our party liked their food, which was a surprise because we've had mostly great experiences all around Richmond, and it certainly wasn't cheap either. Being that the atmosphere / vibe inside was certainly nothing to write home about, I was extremely disappointed with our experience overall.

After I posted my review to Yelp, someone with only 1 review (my guess is for Bluefish!) messaged me a nasty message about how I don't understand how fresh sushi works, among other things. It seems pretty obvious this person is affiliated with Bluefish. This place continues to leave a bad taste in my mouth even days later. No, sushi typically should not take an hour for 3 rolls, especially when you are not busy whatsoever. Also, if the sushi was so fresh, why did it taste so poor?

There are many better places to try, I suggest you...

My family has always like this place since they’ve opened. Never had a problem dropping $100 on the family I knew I was getting good sized portions and fresh food. And I have left a good review in the past. It has been a few month since we’ve last visited and things have changed. Portion being number 1 the fish sandwich was normally on a larger ciabatta bun with the fish overlapping tonight tiny bun with little pieces of what looked like frozen cod and no square which was white in color in the past. At any rate around ten bucks was old cost and now 15.99 for smaller meal. Fries were different and less. In my opinion not acceptable to raise prices for less portions. Second the rolls Wow are they good, but a 15.00 roll included less then and 1/2 thick and only 6. This was the basic spicy yellow tail roll. Again less for more. Now the major part is prices I completely understand price increase it’s needed it todays time. However you should keep portions the same and in quality too.

Very unhappy with the whole experience this go around. And I’ve always avoided sushi king. Maybe we will give that place a shot

Bluefish please fix these issues don’t let what I’ve raved about to so many people go to a bad thing.

Best of luck with...
