The last few years I have had my share of dental issues. Several years ago I had all my upper teeth pulled and replaced with a denture. As time went on, I started having problems with my lower teeth. I had infections and bouts of intense pain. My regular dentist was so caring and concerned about my needs. He tried to do everything to save my teeth. But he and I both knew that I would eventually lose my bottom teeth. Having root canals and cavity fills was not only expensive, but my dentist knew that it was like putting a bandaid on a serious dental problem. He recommended an appointment with Dr. Alger to discuss options to solve my teeth issues. And I am so glad he did. I was anxious and wondered what Dr. Alger would say. He knew that I didn't want implants, so I was hopeful that he could offer another alternative. As soon as I met Dr. Alger, his warm smile and demeanor gave me the feeling that he was going to have the answers I was looking for. He spent time explaining my options and reviewing what the 3D x-rays showed. After the consultation, I felt comfortable with the treatment decision I made. I was actually excited in anticipation of finally having a solution that I knew was right for me. Of course, I have normal anxiety as I would with any surgery, but with Dr. Alger's impressive credentials and 5 star reviews, I was confident that I was in good hands and that everything would be all right. Sometimes you just know when you find the right person. I know my life will be better because of Dr. Alger. I highly recommend him.
This is an addendum to the above review. I want to sincerely thank Casey (not sure of the spelling of her name). She was the young lady who checked my teeth and took my xrays before meeting Dr. Alger. She was very pleasant, very thorough and she put my mind at ease. Every dental office should have a Casey. She is...
Read moreVery pleased with my first appointment with this office. Staff was very friendly, very professional, a relaxed atmosphere. Dr. Alger explained everything to me that would occur. Asked me if I had any questions which I did and he took time to answer and make sure I understood. Felt he was honest about my situation. Receptionists were most accommodating for scheduling next appointment.
Second appointment today was for exploratory purposes. Really like this office. Everyone looks to your comfort for your procedure and after care. Pointed out some things for my consideration that had not occurred to me. They do not pressure you. Have future appointments coming up and am completely relaxed about them. Would highly recommend to anyone.
It is five months later, and visit today should have been the one when I would schedule my implant. However, unexpected health issues have arisen, so implant is on hold. He and his staff completely understood my situation and offered support and prayers. If you want a caring, compassionate dentist, Dr. Alger is the one.
Went in today for my implant. As always, your comfort important to them. Staff outstanding; dentist exceptional. Would not go to anyone else.
Back today to get stitches out. Totally painless. Will go back in five months. These are the type of people you miss seeing on a regular basis. The receptionist is friendly and smiling when you go in and she remembers who you are. Just a great place all around.
Final appointment today. Everything in place for crown. I have been blessed to have such compassionate caring people in my life for the last year. Going to a dentist, periodontist, etc. can be a stressful experience. When you have Dr. Alger and his staff as your providers, all that goes away. ...
Read moreI went in for gum graft surgery, and have extreme dental anxiety. I had difficulty calming myself for days prior to the surgery. Once I walked into the office, I was greeted with reassurance and kindness. Michelle was the dental assistant, and gave me lots of good information about recovery, and was very reassuring and kind. Within a minute of getting into the chair I was given nitrous oxide, and within a few minutes of that taking effect I was relaxed and calm. Soon Dr. Alger came in to administer the sedation IV, which included Zofran and an antibiotic, and I pretty immediately went into a very relaxed state. I heard voices and saw lights, but don't remember much else. I do remember when he stood up and said he was done, and I thought that went by quickly! It was 2 hours, but it felt like minutes. I was helped to my car, and on my way home. Michelle had advised me to begin taking ibuprofen about 30 minutes after the procedure, and stay on top of it for the next day or so. I've done that and haven't needed any other pain medication. I feel some soreness when I eat (smooth diet) but it dissipates quickly. Have slept very well with little to no pain. Dr. Alger and his staff are extremely kind, reassuring, they listen well to your concerns and needs, and are thorough in answering questions. I...
