I went into the store and I explained that I haven't been able to find ANYTHING that I would want to buy in the last year. So I asked if I could just exchange my gift card. The owner proceeded to tell me that they expire 1 year after they are sold. To which I say it doesn't state that anywhere on the gift card. Her reply was it is in her system. To which I replied how am I supposed to know that? She basically tells me oh well it's my lose. So I leave. I decided to look up the law. When I returned explaining that gift cards are federally supposed to last a minimum of 5 years. She tells me fine you can buy something or give it away. As I begin to look around the store again the owner, her employee, and a regular customer begin to, in the loudest manor possible, make fun of me for the entire time I was in the store. So I just left and gave the gift card to someone I saw that frequents the establishment I work in. How is this ok to treat people like this?
The gift card was a year old. The reason I know is because I received it when we purchased our house. So according to your 3 year LAW it was still...
Read moreThis whole process of selling my jewelry in a consignment shop, Northern Chicks in Milan, was new to me and I was excited about the opportunity. I was hoping that the owner might guide me and so I asked a lot of questions. She wrote down on post-it notes the inventory I brought in. That should have been my first red flag. In August I went in to check on my products and found that jewelry was missing that I hadn’t been paid for. I took my jewelry home on that day to better inventory it. I returned a couple of days later to show her the original inventory list and photos of each months products as proof of what had been sold and what I had been paid for but she refused to look at them. She yelled at me, told me to shut up, told me that I was immature, and then threatened me with her lawyer. She did all this in front of my 12 year old son who was shocked and was shaking. She also told me to never come in HER shop again! She was totally unprofessional, rude,...

He was the only one on the street. No other business seemed to need an armed presence. There was a permitted demonstration in progress, but Milan has these sometimes, like all cities. It wasn’t much different than when they have a festival downtown, except the street wasn’t closed and it was over in 3 hours. The sidewalk was busy, but there wasn’t anything scary going on unless you have a costume phobia. Introducing a weapon to a peaceful demonstration was irresponsible on their part and needlessly increased tension. I’ve been in a few times, but never found anything I couldn’t live without. Will...
