Although this place was new, it should've improved by now. Firstly, the layout is garbage if you aren't the only one there. There is no clear place to order and no organization whatsoever. Second, it is really slow. Only one person works in front most of the time, and any food that is prepared for you takes around 10 minutes. Next, the Brookie shakes have the same texture and flavor as candles. Maybe Jiberhoopies is haunting them or something. The ice cream is a bit expensive for run of the mill flavors. Lastly, our service was really bad. Me and two other people went for a lunch. One of us ordered a pepperoni roll which is fast because they are already made. Then me and the other person both got sandwiches. One Italian and on Chicken Club. Then two people came up behind us and ordered a chicken club and a caprese. While the sandwiches were sitting for 5 minutes the barista switched and guess what? The other people got their sandwiches first and that is because the lady said "here's the chicken club..." The one person said oh that's mine so the waitress set down the plate in front of her and the other sandwich in front of the other person. Because she didn't say what the other sandwich was, they thought it was their caprese but nooo, it was my Italian sandwich. They dug right in, so it was too late to do anything. Then about 4 minutes later she brought our sandwiches, the chicken and what was supposed to be my Italian. She said "Here's the chicken club..."she set it down the said "and the caprese." I tell her I got an Italian, and she turns around and looks at the couple enjoy our sandwiches and looks back at us. By know we've known for a few minutes that it has been messed up. She tells me just a minute, then goes back the the kitchen to make another sandwich for me. Maybe a minute after this happens the person eating my Italian realizes that there isn't mozzarella, or tomatoes and finds out that it definitely wasn't a caprese. He takes it to the counter and tells her, and she hands him the caprese. Now I wait another 10 minutes for my second sandwich to be made. Then I get my sandwich and eat it. She then comes back with a small plate with cannolis and says they are on the house.
Overview: The baked things are good, but anything you wait for,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love this bakery it's so cute!! Everything they make is delicious. Although I am irritated about a few things with this place. For starters the employees sometimes don't wear gloves when handling the food. That's fine I suppose sometimes as long as they use those papers. Also they don't have ingredients labels on some of their products that are made in house. Which isn't good someone could have an allergic reaction in your establishment. There isn't always someone at the counter to ask about those things. Then another thing that bothers me is that the owner keeps changing her hours of operation for this bakery. Also the hours don't match the hours online or the hours listed on the front door sometimes it's bs.With little to no notice at all. Inconsiderate if you ask me. Although I do love the atmosphere and the drinks are great. The staff is pretty decent. Except for one time a guy forgot to put my stuff in the bag I was kinda pissed š” off about that, especially since I had already paid for my stuff. Also I love their gifts and selection of teas and cheeses. Although I do love that they have free samples sometimes. The baked goods are decent. Especially the stuffed cream cheese bagels.š„Æ Also their prices are a tad high. Also their presentation on everything is nice.Should offer a discount if you buy so many items.Overall pretty good but there are things that need to change. Although the parking is free I'll give them that. Also it is nice that it is close to the park. I do so hope that the owner reads...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was hesitant to shop here after I saw a Facebook post from the owner that left a bad taste in my mouth. Basically, she had traveled to visit some bakeries in other states, and instead of being gracious or civil, she took the opportunity to proclaim how horrible their food was in comparison to hers. I thought, even if true, this was not very sportsmanlike. Given the lack of options for a bakery in Milan and my 3 year old son's interest in the place as we passed, I gave it a shot. The store is cute enough, and the food is serviceable. Their prices, however, rival that of Zingerman's without the gravitas to back it up. I found the staff (largely the owner's spawn) either apathetic or rude. My son asked me while we ate who Stevie Wonder is, so I pulled up a video of his live performance on sesame street for him to watch. It was not full volume, and in my opinion was just loud enough for my son to hear, however I was approached by an employee that asked me to turn the video off. We were about 2 minutes from leaving of our own decision, but this made me wrap things up and leave in a hurry. I understand that it would be hard for you, the reader, to see where I'm coming from without knowing exactly how loud was my phone and how big is the space and how close we were to other patrons, but I assure you my anxiety prevents me from doing anything that might make a spectacle in public. In any case, if you want mediocre quality food or gifts for the price you would pay in Times Square, I would STILL recommend going...
