Fenders Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Milan

Went in for a beer after grocery shopping with my husband. Our 2nd time there. My husband was watching the keno #s. A man standing directly at under the keno screen starts yelling at my husband to stop staring at him, makes a scene, verbally attacking my husband, not to mention an a$$ out of himself for absolutely no reason. My husband politely explains he was looking at the #s. The man comes to our table, sit down and again starts insulting my husband. I ask the bartender to bring our bill (after she witnessed the entire incident without saying a word to the man). Being a bartender myself, I ask her if she's going to serve the man. She replies that she is...I then ask her if she knows the legality of over serving or serving an already intoxicated guest. She responds with "he doesn't seem that drunk to me". Wowwwwww....ok, we won't be back and I recommend reevaluating the way the staff reacts to a not only new guests, but any guest period. Maybe TIPS and/or TAM training should be required before losing your liquor license and/or other more serious suits are...

I was pleasantly surprised having dined here 3 times now. Fenders to me in the quintessential locals dive bar but with better food than your typical bar. Additionally they serve food up to one hour before closing which means you can get food as late as 1 am for a late night snack.

To start with the wings are THE best wings I have found in the Ann Arbor region. The seasoning and cook on the wings are great and these are the only wings I have ever had that I prefer to eat without sauce! In reality they are great small pieces of fried chicken without a thick breading.

The servers were all very helpful and provided great service.

I do wish the tables were cleaned better. I found them sticky and not cleaned as well as they could be and some of the furniture could use replacement or maintenance.

i have been a loyal customer of fender’s for a while. not for any particular reason, it’s just been my spot. to be honest, i put up with bad service for a while. today was the same old as always, but i suddenly am so over it and don’t plan on coming back. i got seated and waited to be greeted, per usual. a couple other groups came in after me. not sure what the deal was, but they were delivered appetizers before i was greeted. to top it all off, the owner was just sitting around watching his staff not serve me. i always tip them well, despite the fact that this is a pattern of behavior. i also just find it off putting the way the staff dresses. like i wouldn’t bring my family in because of how revealing their outfits are. so i just don’t plan on...
