China One — Restaurant in Milan

I've always thought the food was just okay here. I only go here because it is the only Chinese in Milan. If I had other options, I would go somewhere else. (I work in Milan.)

Today, I went into this store with two other people. We each ordered separate. We got there just before a rush of people, which we were happy about because that meant we'd get our food first and get out of there before everyone else's orders were put in. We did not assume we'd be there for an hour.

I ordered the broccoli and garlic, while the people I was with ordered the broccoli and shrimp, and the chick lo mein. My broccoli and garlic came out about twenty minutes later. The woman behind the counter said the rest would be out soon. We waited another 20 minutes, and had to ask about our other two orders. The woman who runs the store, then went into the back, came back to the front and handed the chicken lo mein dish to us right away as if it had just been sitting around. Then we asked about the broccoli and shrimp we were still waiting on, and we were told "one second". And the woman walked away before I could ask what one second meant.

We waited ANOTHER twenty minutes, and asked about the broccoli shrimp AGAIN. That's when we found out that the woman behind the register had forgotten to pass along that order to the back of the store. But, that doesn't matter because we asked about it when we asked about the lo mein, and they'd said "one second", so we continued waiting. The woman who runs the store kept blaming it on the cashier, and would not take responsibility for her mistakes. Even if the woman had forgotten to pass along the order, we asked about the order after about a half hour of waiting, and they told us "one second". That's when it stopped being the cashiers fault, and became the store owners fault.

We expressed how upset we were, that the first order of food had gone cold, and we waited 40 minutes for the second order, and an entire hour for the third order. (And by the time the third order came, the second order had ALSO gone cold.) We told the store owner that we wanted a refund, so she demanded the food back. I tried to explain to her, that we are hungry, and had to sit there for an hour waiting for our food. That when a food business makes a mistake this big, they need to refund us and offer to remake our food for free seeing as we are the customers who keep their business going, and it was their mistake. It was not our fault our orders took so long, or are requests for our food after waiting had been ignored. Its not our fault we chose that chinese place to eat at, not knowing we'd be treated so badly or waste so much of our time. Had we known we'd have to wait an hour, and be treated the way we were, we definitely would have taken our money somewhere else.

Instead, The woman would not refund us, or make us another free meal. She would not do anything for us in any way, and continued to blame in on the cashier.

Its safe to say the three of us, (who go there at least once to twice a week) Will not be returning.

Oh, and they had a child working in the back. Completely illegal. The entire place...

I've been eating here for 12 years. Ive never gotten a single wrong order, or a meal that wasnt perfect. The cook is an absolute master of chinese food and it's always the same guy, very hard working, much respect. My favorite chinese food place. The guy below saying he didnt get soy sauce it's because you have get it yourself from the huge box of soy sauce packets next to the register. If it was a snake it would have bitten him. He expects them to work for free because he didnt realize you can help yourself.

Update- unfortunately the master cook passed away. I'm so sorry to his family for the loss. The new cooks are doing a fantastic job and the lady who runs the front desk is terrific and extremely nice. I've noticed the place is a lot more busy now and they do a great job keeping up. Absolutely positively WITHOUT A DOUBT, this place is hands down the BEST Chinese food I've EVERRR ate in my whole life!! NO JOKE Y'ALL!!!! We get the same thing every single time because they are the best I've ever had. 💯 Roast Pork Lo Mein noodles. My husband never liked noodles, rice or anything similar until one day he tried a bite of mine and just fell in love (exactly like I did!) And he then swiped and finished the rest of my noodles!! Ever since then, he always gets a small size and I get the large so we each have our own! Their pork/chicken/spring egg rolls are always good!
