Great Lakes Ace — Local services in Milford Charter Township

I would of given it a one star but the cashier was nice. I came in looking for a cooler but figured I would grab some caulk for a minor foundation crack that I have. I look around and there is maybe two other customers in the store, not being helped and I was looking for the correct isle, since I never go to this particular location. I stopped into this location, as it was on the way home. Anyways, I see about 3 staff but not one looks up to help me or walk away like I’m invisible. Ok, fine, I found the isle and start looking around. I’m pretty sure I have the right product but wanted to confirm there was nothing else available. So I got to the paint area, this lady who is reading a paper doesn’t even look up after I ask for help. She then continues to read her paper and briefly looks up, making me feel like why am I asking for her help?!? So she goes doesn’t the isle with me and I explain EXACTLY what I need and she pulls out caulk for the window and doors?!? Like really?!? Did I ask for that much effort. I corrected her and then left. Unreal. Please don’t work if you don’t want to or if customers are such an inconvenience for your business. I’m sorry but it was so discouraging to feel like this. Purchased a 2 gallon gas container today, filled it with 1.5 gallons of gasoline and while using it on the first attempt it leaked all around the seal onto my hand. I removed the attachment, secured it again, yet it continued to leak. I called Ace and spoke with a gentlemen who stated I could bring it back in for a refund. Once I emptied the container and cleaned it, I returned to the store where the same gentlemen attempted to teach a new employee how to do a return. In doing so he made an error, was unable to correct it, and subsequently put my refund on a gift card. I asked him to refund my credit card but he stated he could not do so and I would need to speak with a manager on Monday. This isn't the type of service I expect from Ace, especially after selling a defective product that leaked gasoline all over the place. Completely unacceptable.

Went here on a recent Wednesday morning to get some Rainx for my car windshield. There were two girls looked about late teens early 20's milling about, neither of which offered to help me. A person at the counter. I waited for them to finish with a question from a customer then stood nearby twirling my keys in the middle of the store. No one offered to help.
