The owner seems nice, but it's the incident that recently happened made me give this place 2 stars. For one, yes, it is overpriced. I wish I knew that before I went. By time I saw the total of everything (which costed more than the dress) I felt as if it was too late considering that she might have a fitting fee and I figured I might as well stick with it. Anyway, when my dress was done, I went to try it on and she asked me for the corset ribbon. I looked at her confused and asked "why would I have it?". She said I took it and still til this day I really can't figure out why would I want to take the ribbon. I told her I left the ribbon right on the dress, but she insisted I took it. She did a quick search, but couldn't find it, so she used this random ribbon to see how the dress fits. The dress fitted well, but I was still bothered by the ribbon situation. Not because she misplaced it or maybe mistakenly threw it out with dresses' scraps from cutting the length. But moreso of the accusation. I'm responsible enough, I would've left the ribbon in the bag where my heels knowing I'd be back and it's needed. After I left, I called the bride who was there for the initial fitting. I asked her "what did I do with the dress' ribbon?" Without giving out any information. Immediately she said "you left it on the dress, why?" And from that, I knew I wasn't crazy. When I called the owner, she said she would look around the shop. She said if anything, I can go to Joanne's and buy another one. I felt like she could at least be more apologetic or even offer to make another one, or heck, even refund me a few dollars off the cost knowing I'd have to go look around and buy a satin ribbon the same color of my dress. I generally don’t ever go out of my way to leave negative reviews. But for the first time, I felt the need to share my experience based on very poor quality service. I brought a bridesmaid dress in to be altered with the shoes I was planning on wearing. The owner measured the length needed to be taken off, pinned and then moved onto strap shortening. I have little to no experience with tailoring but know enough to have thought that taking in straps after pinning the bottom would cause a difference in length. She assured me this would not effect it, as it would “just pull from top”, I asked a few more times hesitant because I felt the need to reiterate I wanted the dress to skim the floor. But again was reassured it would be the way I wanted.

To my disappointment, when I went back to try on the dress with the planned shoes it was much shorter than planned and almost my entire foot was showing. When I recalled the prior conversation I had with her she proceeded to ignore my concerns by encouraging me “I think it looks great” despite knowing the only request I had was that the dress touched the floor as it did during my pinning. When I came to the conclusion and verbalized to her that “I will just need to buy new shoes” she replied “yeah I guess you could do that, nothing we can really do now.”

I have had a number of bridesmaids dresses altered in the past and I can confidently say this was the only bad experience I have ever had and by far the worst quality and customer service I have ever experienced. I would not recommend.

I did end up buying new shoes about 2 inches shorter which worked for what I wanted! But wish I didn’t need to go through this experience and spend 130 dollars on alterations to have to buy another...

Simply exquisite work! I worked with Soumia to tailor my wedding dress for my December wedding. I received a recommendation that her work was amazing, and she in fact exceeded all of my expectations! Soumia truly makes the dress your own, and comes at any issue with a skillful eye, identifying multiple solutions and working with you to jointly decide what works best for you. She is a true master at what she does. I am only 5’2 and therefore a lot of length needed to come off the bottom. My dress also however had a very intricate 3 tiered design on the bottom, and despite the challenge, she went the extra mile to make sure I could maintain each tier on the dress, while also fitting it to me perfectly. Soumia works hard to have the dress done in plenty of time before the wedding to ensure everything goes smoothly. My mother also then brought her dress to Soumia as well which likewise looked perfect. You will be in amazing hands if you bring any...
