I stopped into Scratch Baking a few weeks ago, to pick up a take-away menu. At the time they did not have any (I was told someone had just taken the last one), but we happened to be in the area a week or so later, and stopped in again, and this time around they had a full supply. The menu looked nice, the baked goods were beautiful, and I loved that you could see the kitchen in action, behind the counter. The cafe was really sweet with 6 small tables inside, and 3 or 4 bar stools up against the windows, as well as outdoor seating. Today, we took our boat into Milford, and arrived at Scratch Baking at 10:45 am. We love supporting small, local business, and I was happy to see the place was bustling! We were greeted by a friendly girl, who promptly told us that they were out of eggs, cheese and bagels. Since at least the eggs seem to be a staple of this business, (and are even part of their logo), we were a little surprised. The menu is small, and an egg and cheese sandwich is the only "hearty" breakfast sandwich (for my husband), so that option was eliminated. He settled for a GIGANTIC orange/cranberry scone, and asked for an orange juice. They do not carry any sort of juice. He then asked for a medium black coffee, but they only offer small and large. I decided on the yogurt/granola parfait, along with a small tea. Our bill came to about $14.00. There is a self-serve station with a large glass jug of water (as it was super hot today, having ice in the water would have been nice), as well as utensils, milk, Half & Half, etc. We were able to find a seat inside, and I have to say, the food was delicious. The scone was really good - not too sweet, and easily could have fed 3 people. The yogurt with homemade granola and fresh fruit was light and healthy. I actually had quite a bit of the granola left over, and took it home to enjoy on its own. Having never been to the previous location on River Street, I cannot comment on how the business was run, and hope that at its new location, they still are trying to get the kinks out, and are hopefully busier than they ever anticipated! :) As the menu is somewhat limited, when you run out of not one, but three items, to me, that can signal a potential problem. We actually saw one couple leave, when told there were no eggs, cheese or bagels. We think juice also goes hand in hand with breakfast, and offering some bottled juices would go a long way in providing a better dining experience. We will absolutely go back, and hope by then things will be running smoothly, and they will have a better handle on their inventory, and perhaps will even consider expanding the menu a bit to provide more options for...

Ive been in milford for the last 4 yrs today my girl took me here. I gotta say wow the food and pastries we shared were excellent. I had a ham and cheese toasted on chibata bread and fresh rugala was fire. Really really good sandwich. I write alot of reviews and im going to start taking it more serious and maybe someone will hire me to go to places and write reviews on places we visit in our rv. To eatery places that we stop at on our journey. I mean i have 10,000 views already on here so i guess alot of people like the truth in what i say .. if its bad and not worth ill write it as i see it. This little take out fresh baked good and a perfect blended sandwiches to great fresh drinks this place is a must stop place if ur in milford green area. I highly reccomend. I also did one on fanning foods that on my road. Its in the back of the sm store and the otherside is a liquor store that place is dev one of my favs in milford for dinners for between 10 to 12 bucks u get a great selection of weekly specials to thier normal awesome menu. He does all dif weeks hell have italian night greek night. Chinese night polish night and irish and french night the chef there worked in 5 star studded restuarants in nyc. And its shows high quality food at a crazy resonable price and also his soups and home made cakes r the bomb. Please support ur locals. FANNING FOODS A MUST TRY IN EAST...

Yum, yum, wow. Came in for lunch and warm drinks on a sunny fall Saturday. There was a line because this place is so good! We had a delicious meal in the sunshine at a table out front.

Being gluten free I couldn’t sample the delicious baked goods that are their bread and butter but I was able to order a fantastic, well priced and massive salad. I had the Chipotle Sweet Potato Salad and I added Chicken to it. All the elements had incredible flavour and the Parmesan dressing was delicious. We went back in for more dressing! I also had an excellent cappuccino. My friend had the Waldorf salad which was also massive and an absolutely delicious smelling Masala Chai steeped tea.

I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the ingredients. They live up to their name as it’s evident that they make their food from scratch. Also, the price point impressed me. The two of us had our gigantic salads, warm drinks and a big doggie treat for a little dog for about...

My first loaf of sourdough bread and ciabatta bread was good. The apple pie had more crust than apples. It was overpriced and not worth the money. I got another loaf of sourdough and ciabatta. The ciabatta was not full but full of holes . The bread did taste good but I ask how can you make a sandwich with this bread. Refer to photos. Maybe this was a bad day. I don't know if I will go back and if I do I will only buy the sourdough. I am sorry Evan but I have bought ciabatta bread elsewhere and was able able to make proper sandwiches. You want me to send you an email so I can have a better experience? I shouldn't have to do that. I should be able to walk into your store and buy a good product. As far as the apple pie goes. everyone who ate the pie agreed that it was more crust than apples. It was a pretty pie though. I found a local high quality bakery whose apple pie was half the price.

This bakery is how I discovered the town of Milford. I was researching bakery’s in the area and heard about Scratch. Make the journey for the Monkey Bread alone, you won’t be disappointed. Lol. They close early, you snooze, you lose, and sometimes your favorites sell out. Pre order online the night before for a timed pick up and avoid a sell out. I like the breakfast sandwich, the egg bursts open between a yummy fresh bun oozing with sharp cheddar. It’s really good 😍 One Fall weekend I thought I saw a famous designer (with small entourage) picking up a big bag of goodies there. Not going to name drop but it doesn’t surprise me, he has good taste.😊 It’s right across from the lovely town Green which makes a nice place to picnic if the outside tables are taken. If you sit outside you will no doubt meet some really nice local people, everyone is very friendly.
