When expectations & reality don't agree.... I'm a local, I've heard nothing but good reviews about this place & on this particular night I wanted to take my kids out to dinner somewhere local we hadn't been before & this place came to mind. Went on a wed night around 5ish. 1st impressions... Its nice inside, the bar is huge, it wasn't my idea of a family friendly place but I was willing to give it a shot, the staff was nice & dressed to impress the night crowd, the menu lacked any kid options and I found it to be very seafood heavy, VERY expensive, & not overly impressive if I'm being completely honest. When I ordered the waitress said they could do plain sliders for kids and also pasta with sauce (she mentioned a few other kid things but I only remember what we actually ordered). I opted for chicken marsala for myself and sat there eagerly awaiting it's arrival! I'll break the food down plate by plate, my daughters plate was sad to look at. 3 little burgers on buns with absolutely nothing on them or with them, no lettuce, no tomatoes, nada, no veg or fries on the side. Just 3 burgers floating on a trendy oversized plate... (although it was explained that they offered a kids slider plate minus all the fixens that come with the adult version (ie. manchego cheese, bacon, & aioli) I was still charged the same price $13? Had I know that we would have taken the darn bacon! Lol). My son got a bowl of penne pasta with marinara, although it lacked any parsley garnish it's literally all I could taste when I tried it. I'd describe the taste as confusing & I've never had a marinara taste like that & hope I never do again. (I was charged $4 for his). My meal, chicken marsala was visually disappointing, the fat had separated from the sauce, and if I didn't know I ordered chicken marsala I never would have guessed based on the taste as there wasn't even a hint of marsala present. Hidden under the mound of mashed potatoes, chicken, and odd sauce I found 4 delicious green beans. (I believe my meal was $28 possibly $23). All in all I was super disappointed, I really regretted picking this place because it was so not worth the amount of money I just spent, and walking out I thought to myself ahhhhhh so this is what boujee means! Next time I'll stick to old faithful when it comes to a family dinner and just go to good ole...
Read moreThe service was terrible and slow. The floors were sticky and restaurant, as a whole, was a bit dingy. While the food itself was ok, it was certainly overpriced.
My partner and I came to this restaurant around 4:30/5, so it was not very busy. We insisted on being seated outside, as the inside was dark and the floors were sticky. After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before our waitress appeared with menus. It took another 15 minutes for the waitress to return with water and take our drink orders.
As she was taking our orders, I asked if there was anything sour or citrus-y on the menu, like a, for example, margarita. The waitress said there wasn't anything on the menu like that. I asked whether the "Citrus Martini" would fit the bill, since it has lime juice and orange juice in it. She said it wasn't sour. Then, I asked if the bartender could make it more sour by adding more lime juice or sour mix. The waitress said to me, verbatim, "How would we do that? Haven't you ever tried lime juice?" I was kind of offended and ordered a beer instead. Then, 20 minutes later, the waitress came back and said that they didn't have the beer I wanted, but the bartender made me the drink I had originally asked for.
After getting our drinks, it took another 10-15 minutes for the waitress to come back and get our food order. The food came out pretty quick. We ordered the pulled pork sliders, the lamb rack, and the seafood linguine. It was all just OK. The seafood was a bit overcooked, the lamb a but under. The sliders were sliders. I would suggest for anyone interested in great food to find another restaurant -- probably...
Read moreWas hopeful for this place. Wanted to try something new, lesson learned, don't! I & my 2 daughters ordered the shrimp risotto (was more like oatmeal with hot pepper, and couldn't find any shrimp in my mushy wet rice) she stopped eating her's long before I stopped. Was eating it slowly hoping to soften the hot pepper from affecting me. The appetizers (blackened scallops-only 3 & fried calamari) were mediocre compared to the meal which was just unappetizing and bland with the exception of the red pepper if that's considered seasoning. The desserts 1) creme brulee were just bleh and like eating bland unsweetened whipped cream. 2) daughter ordered chocolate cake with ice cream (the cake was not properly cooked & was more like undercooked cake batter. Our waitress was kind and tried to attend us but was overwhelmed by the crowds filling up the bar as well as running back and forth serving the table behind us shots after shots. The exceptionally loud crowd made it too difficult to have any conversation. Completely and utterly disappointed. We will not go back! Btw our stomachs are messed up from that cheesy...
