I would like to start off saying that prior to going to this establishment I knew nothing about it and my decision to go was based solely on its appearance. The outside looked nice and it had a patio so I gave it a shot. The inside is very nice along with the patio. The exterior gives you the vibe the place will be an Irish Pub. Beer and drinks were reasonably priced and there was a good selection. I did not know this place only served pizza, but I am still a big fan of pizza so this wasn't a huge issue. I do think they are greatly limiting themselves with their 1 item menu offering and probably would not have gone if I knew they had only served pizza.
I will say the service was friendly and fast. My only real complaint was of the food and menu. The limited menu was a major drawback and I personally did not care much for the pizza. Pizza's were reasonably priced at approximately $12 for two toppings. Depending on appetite, it is completely possible for one person to eat an entire pizza. Pizza is on a paper thin crust. The pizza was slathered with oil, had little cheese, and had little sauce. Toppings are scarce on the pizza and they do not put much on for the extra price paid. Overall, I found the pizza very bland and tasteless.
The biggest draw to this place is certainly the bar. Unfortunately, in a town with many bars and choices, I probably would not return here in favor of a place...
Read moreFamily was hungry so we decided on a little spot that happened to be closed. Colony Grill was right next door so we figured we'd give it a chance. After walking in and seeing the menu on the table we asked if they have anything else, like appetizers or something. To our surprise, it was all pizza. The prices were fair and it was pretty busy so we stayed to try it. There were tons of TVs playing various Sports above a huge well-stocked bar. The walls were covered in pictures of people from the Armed Forces. It was pretty cool. My husband had a breakfast pizza with bacon, my little boys shared a regular pie, and I had an onion pizza. The crust is completely flat which is totally out of the ordinary for me as a native Brooklyn Pizza girl, but everything was delicious. I had a spicy Margarita on the rocks and my husband had a beer. All in all we were very satisfied with the service and the food. The only reason I didn't give this place five stars is because I think they would do really well with a few appetizers. We probably would have ordered the pizzas and gotten a couple little things on the side. I'm sure we'll visit again soon because it was a great place to hang out and...
Read moreIt's not pizza, it's special. If you go in expecting a slice or two of pie split between your friends you'll walk away hungry. This place sells 2 things booze and individual personal pizzas that are super thin. You might be asking, regardless what the pizza looks like, why get a personal pizza here as suppose to anywhere else. The secret is in the hot oil. This oil has a spiciness that mixes with the grease of the pizza so well, it can really only be enjoyed right out of the oven while everything is still melting. Of course if you don't like spiciness you can get it with out it, just give it a chance if your on the fence. If you are wondering what the toppings are, it can be found painted on the wall. They also serve drinks by the pitcher so bring a couple friends. My family and I go all the time. There are 3-4 other ones we know of in other towns. They each taste subtly different for those with discernible taste, otherwise there made exactly the same way. Please go to Coloney bar and grill in with the expectation of challenging your pre-conceived notion of what a pizza should be. This is a treasure in Connecticut that needs to be shared...
