Absolutely not. They were pushy for me to use a leasing company when I stated I was not comfortable and would just pay the phone off. They gave me my total I what i would owe ACIMA. And I asked twice "I do not owe them anything for their service? " He pointed to a total that was on my receipt and said "it says right there ACIMA and the amount you owe ". Lies. I call acima and they told me $300 more because I'm paying to use them and the taxes! When I informed them of the receipt that shows what I owe them, they said "No, that is the grand total you were going to pay The Phone Guys." I agreed, because that was true. They then stated "the amount I see next to their name is the amount they are paying The Phone Guys, it was just keeping me in the loop because I now use ACIMA.". So in short, the Phone Guys are absolute liars. They deliberately told me multiple times that the amount shown is what my total is with them AND ACIMA. I would not be charged extra. Don't forget these are USED phones. I had no clue because I was referred by my phone company. When I said I wasn't comfortable with a used phone, after walking in, they looked disgusted and said "they used to be a metro store and don't see the issue. The phones are in brand new condition or else they wouldn't resell". So I continued, it just felt weird. 0 stars
-UPDATE TO OWNER (I do not know how to respond to you)- : 1: The phone number you provided is the stores number in question. Should I ask to speak to someone in particular? And what would be the reasoning for my call? Will they give me a refund? Or..? Unfortunately, I do not understand the indication of your response, as the issue has not been resolved. You are correct, the cashier did go through the prices as monthly statements at the end. I was told I could pay a certain amount, bi monthly for 90 days (or if I needed to stretch it further it would cost triple the total). I was not given any indication, or reason to believe the cost was more than what was documented, so without question I believed that was the grand total I'd pay ACIMA as frequently discussed. I genuinely want to believe that he was having a brain fog and did not realize his mistakes. You will also see the page where I signed this. There was no verbal mention of paying higher unless, again, I wanted to pay smaller increments. I questioned some information on the page and asked what a few of the other amounts were, but foolish me for trusting a licensed business, that assumption is clearly ??? The amount i was aware of, was displayed on this same page but even then, before signing I verified again that I would not be charged anything other than what was...
Read moreI answered an ad on marketplace for phone and the person steered me towards this company. I went to the store the next day and they said that the phone was no longer available but they did have one that was $100 more same exact phone and if I wanted that one. They said there were no other options for that particular one and had to get it from another store. I decided to go ahead and get that phone and wait for the phone to come in they called me and said it was there when I arrived two days later they said that they couldn't find it and I'd have to wait for another week. I've been told them that they just called me and told me that it was there and to please keep looking for it. they found it. It was supposed to be an unlocked phone I took it home and of course it wasn't it was locked to Xfinity I called them and told them it was locked and they said that they would try and find me another one and that they would give me a call back. It's the next day and I still haven't heard anything from them. I then started looking online and found the same company on eBay advertising several of the same phone in a better condition for $100 less, supposably in stock. I specifically wanted to go to a brick-and-mortar store to avoid any of these hassles and scams but unfortunately they're exactly what happened. They say that they specialize in unlocked phones but yet they sold me a locked phone that I'm unable to use on my network. Bait n switch, sold me an upgraded unusable phone for more money than I intended to spend and then failed to communicate with me regarding due process. And come to find out the guy that I was speaking to on marketplace doesn't even work there like he implied he did. Just faulty all...
Read moreI can not speak for their selection of phone services, but I recommend against buying a laptop from here. I purchased one outright, just to go home and, under close inspection, find that the laptop had an objectively worse hard drive than both the packaging and receipt indicated. I could have easily bought a similar, if not better, certified pre-owned laptop online for nearly half the price I payed for my falsely advertised one. If I had not gone back the same day with proof that they sold me the wrong computer, I doubt they would've given me a refund, or they would've charged me a ridiculous 20% restock fee. Even after I came back with verifiable evidence that they messed up, I had to wait for a while as they tried to find a way out of giving my money back. And then to really hammer it in, they tried to shortchange my refund! I had to do the math myself to double check they weren't pulling anything, and if I hadn't done that and told them they were (yet again) wrong, I wouldn't have gotten my full refund. The whole experience thoroughly ruined my day, and now I'm thinking of all the people who wouldn't have known they were sold an overpriced, wrongly...
