ā ļøUPDATE REPLY TO OWNER BELOWā ļø I hate to write this review because I have had good conversations with Fred over the years. I haven't been to Cutting Corners in a year or more and now I remember why. Unfortunately great conversation doesn't trump the service. I would much rather have an OnPoint make others jealous haircut rather than have a good conversation with the barber. I can't believe Fred let me leave his shop with my hair looking the way it did. Terrible fade layering and barely touched the top. Extremely uneven all the way around including the lineup. Fred tried to spray my hairline but I declined after the first spray, please ask your customers if they want their hairline spray painted. I don't, never will, never have. I scheduled my appointment for 10:00 a.m. his first appointment for the day, Fred was 5 minutes late. Being a professional myself, prepping for an appointment is part of business. I would have been at the shop, TVs on heat on with a welcome environment. I guess I can't hold everyone to my standards š¤·š½ I wanted to give Fred an opportunity to fix it so I called the next morning, his shop phone number is disconnected, I live 30 minutes from his shop. When I scheduled the appointment I wrote a message in the form of email about payment options and received no reply. Please take note that if you schedule online he will require a $10 deposit. So in short, no way to get ahold of Fred at Cutting Corners unless you go to the shop and that's if he's open during his posted times. I really hate to write a negative review about a small minority-owned business, but money doesn't grow on trees. I had to spend another $45 yesterday to have his cut fixed for what I expressed to Fred as extremely important events upcoming and that I needed to look the best I could. He flat-out didn't care and send me on the streets with the worst haircut I've received from a professional barber yet. Dang Fred, where's the love? I DO NOT RECOMMEND cutting corners for any service. Even though he may be the least expensive you get what you pay for. Spend the extra money with someone who has pride in their work. UPDATE REPLY TO OWNER: There's no confusion or misunderstanding when saying "bald fade with a wavelength top" as I have worn this hairstyle for over 25 years. There's no confusion when waiting outside a closed shop at 10am. You did not hand me a mirror and did not ask for permission to spray my hairline. Having missed hairs all around my ears and temples is not confusion or a misunderstanding, it's negligence. I needed to look sharp that day Fred𤨠I challenge anyone to call the posted Google phone number for Cutting Corners Barber shop, it will state "this number is not in service"....... no confusion there either š¤·š½ Fred did leave, closing his shop to walk in's after my haircut, sorry morning walk in's! These are facts. Why in the world would I make something like that up? I don't like being called a liar or even implied so. Top notch professional response you got there Fred š«£ The fact that you took so much time to justify all of your actions only to sneak a passive aggressive apology here and there tells me that writing this review and not deleting it is the right...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen to this barber shop before and the owner was great, I had a appointment scheduled for 5pm with one of his new staff, he was unprofessional, talks a lot and pause so many time over his customers hair that he was cutting, had us waiting for 40mins and didnāt even acknowledges us that he was running behind. It was that bad and really annoying that we had to leave. And we did hear the owner mentioned to him that he was doing too much talking and he still has two costumers waiting. The customer service was terrible on top of that there was guys outside smoking marijuana at the door. People need to know that this is a place of business and we should treat it professionally, especially when itās a black own business. To the owner please let your workers know itās very unprofessional to be giving a service and keep talking none stop over clients head. He stop to talk so many time that he had that fade hair cut running over an hour. Great customer service and professionalism runs hand in hand, and that is what makes a successful business. Respect to the owner but you seriously need to have a meeting with your other barbers on customer service, and professionalism. Time is money. Less talking and he would have more work done and more money coming in, and surely more customer. Word of mouth is the biggest...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt took me 2 weeks to decide to write a bad review because we all have a bad day and things happen, but this is a pattern and the level of disrespect was too much for me. Very disrespectful of customers' time. I waited for about 45 minutes to get a haircut, because he had a client he was talking to for over an hour, he would stop working just to talk. I arrived at 5:05 pm, 25 minutes before my appointment (5:30 pm) and didn't expect to be seen at that time. He was sitting in this chair, the client before me, sitting and talking to the barber. He called this client at 5:10 pm to start cutting his hair and finished at 6:07 pm, and even after finishing, I sat in the chair for him to start with me and he continued talking to that client. He finally starts taking care of me at 6:15 pm. Every time I go, he talks a lot with others and stops his work for a few minutes many times, but this time it was excessive and he didn't even apologize. I was there in front of him, and all this time, I am sure, he knew I was already uncomfortable because 30 minutes has passed and is delayed for talking, not because of a lot of work. This was my 4th time at this place and my last. Not professional at all. All that time wasted in a barbershop for 45 dollars...
