I noticed prior reviews have mentioned new ownership about 3 months ago, which makes sense regarding our experience. We have eaten there multiple times before new ownership, and it was wonderful. About the time new ownership changed, I picked up a To-Go, and the waitress was completely overwhelmed. She only had one table of 2, and 5 people lined up to pick up their orders, which was already packed behind her. Btw, the meal we ordered was just awful. March 16, we made a reservation for a birthday, and there was 8 people in our party. As it turned out, we got the same waitress. I thought, maybe she’s improved in the last 3 months I was there. She had not. Some drinks were forgotten, water was served in different size glasses for each person with no ice. Some people had to wait for their meal while others were already eating and it was just a sandwich they were waiting on. I should mention that we were the only table there at the time. The food, however, was really good, no complaints there. When we received the bill, the waitress told us that we could not pay separately, we had to pay one ticket as a group with 1 form of payment. I have never heard of such a thing before . So all of us were scrambling trying to use Venmo, or put together cash since we could only use one card or pay the entire bill in cash. And when reading the ticket, they added a large gratuity to the bill. Generally speaking, gratuities are around 16% +. They charged 25-27% gratuity. I have seen restaurants do this before for a large party, but this was not a large party. I called the restaurant yesterday and it was the same waitress that answered the phone, only saying “ Hello” not even using the name of the restaurant. I asked to speak to the owner and finally she said “I’ll have to see if he’ll talk to you”. I told him my concerns regarding the party and the bill, and all he said was “I’ll speak to the waitress” and said “I’m sorry” . He kept trying to rush me off the phone during this conversation, which was irritating. I asked him about the large gratuity, , he told me that was normal for a large group. I asked him what he considered to be a large group. He said five people or more and the gratuity will be added to the check. He also said I could find the gratuity information at the bottom of the menu. I told him not many people read the very bottom of the menu looking for the information about party size and gratuity, we are mostly looking at the menu to find something to order . Additionally, the waitress should explain to the table the gratuity be added to the bill for a party of five or more. Again, he kept rushing me as I spoke, so I finally just gave up. So if you decide to eat there, the food is good, but be prepared for owners/wait staff to be inexperienced at best. I would not surprise me to learn that this is the first restaurant...
Read moreThe waiter and waitress were both extremely friendly and very helpful. Very attentive as well, refilling water constantly, and asking how everything is quite often. Maybe too often, which should’ve been the first red flag. They gave us free garlic bread, which was nice. My partner and I both ordered the chicken Parm and were dismayed to see that it was quite clearly just cut up chicken tenders with mozzarella on top. There didn’t seem to be any Parmesan anywhere in the chicken Parmesan. Additionally, the menu specifically stated that the spaghetti would be “smothered” in marinara, but it was actually quite lacking in marinara sauce and rather dry. We had to ask for extra sauce. We didn’t want to make a huge deal at the restaurant because the staff were so sweet. We were pretty sure they knew that the chicken Parmesan was bad and that’s why they kept asking if everything was good over and over again. But it wasn’t their fault, and we didn’t want to make them have a bad night. To top it off we ordered the tiramisu for dessert and they served it to us in the plastic container it came in, with the lid on the side to boot, smh. Overall, the experience was just really disappointing because we were both craving chicken Parmesan and what we received was quite clearly not chicken Parmesan. The owner has quite a bit of audacity charging $24 for spaghetti with pre made chicken tenders and mozzarella. We will not...
Read moreVery cool! I had not been this far north in a long time. My aunt and uncle live near by, this used to be a pizza joint when I was a kidd in the 80-90s.
Anyways they go here and order a specific thing, they had not tried the menu. So they were asking my opinion on ordering. I suggested a few items they have never had in life.
I asked if I could add some extra potiens, but that it was chief choice on the Carbonara . It's a thing I really enjoy experiencing as a food critic. The pasta was amazing, the bacon was perfect and the shrimp a delightful touch.
I think maybe some diced ham and cureed meat would out this over the top, without having to make the sauce a star.
The Capressie Salad was as expected but changed their pallet for the good, I would make the Balsamic reduction a bit lighter, but was still super yummy, it was thicker than expected. Pizza bread with olives and Pesto was amazing.
I forget the name but the fried bread pylo dough with the cheese, was awesome.
I'm really bad with names but the Chef-Owner came out to chat with us, thoughts on the dishes. And me asking for additions, on their disrection.
Super cool person, thank you for being an awesome human. I'm still snacking on the left overs.
Also you're staff was very friendly, again named but we had an amazing service.
