I live in Ga and placed an online order for my mother who lives in Millcreek. Gerlach's not only failed at a simple birthday bouquet delivery 2miles away but allowed the rudest, most discourteous and crass person(Robin) to answer my call regarding what happened. She didn't apologize, wasnt concerned with the fact that my mom did NOT get her flowers on her birthday, hung up on me twice, lied about attempted delivery and wouldn't provide an explanation or resolution besides cancelling the order... I also did NOT get a call from a mgr like I was told (obviously they dont care either). Who does business like that? I'm sure they wouldn't be quick to cancel a funeral arrangement or wedding$$...So much for "enhancing" a special occasion or meeting basic expectations. Good luck staying in business with the poor customer service myself and others apparently have received. I could've bought flowers from anywhere and unfortunately I made the wrong choice this time deciding on Gerlach's. Won't happen again. I'll be getting future arrangements from Allburns who I called after the whole ordeal. They put together and delivered a beautiful arrangement within 2hrs. Bottom line, treat customers as you would want...
Read moreI will never shop here again. I went in yesterday, May 29th, 2024, to purchase an African violet house plant. They were on sale @ 50% off. I figured that would be perfect to use the debit card I had on me and use up the remaining balance. I went to the counter and a man rang it up, at full price. I mentioned it was on sale, he said he didn't realize. He then rang up the correct price, I handed him the card, he looked at me and said you're going to pay "x" amount with THIS, and rolled his eyes... I said yes I am. He proceeded to tell me "we won't make any money". He was clearly agitated and did not try to hide it. I'm all for local companies making money, but really? I very easily could have gone out to the car to get cash had he been the least bit nice. I was there about 2 months ago looking for a certain pot, and it was the same situation. They do not want to be bothered. Prior to this I had not been there in about 10 years. I'll stick with Frank's Farm Market and Stan's...
Read moreBrusque staff, rude treatment. Will take business elsewhere. Get by on your presence in the community for but so long, Gerlach's. Came in this week for a simple purchase, needed minimal help. Important holidays such as...Mother's Day...seem to turn staff into robots unable to help those who keep the floral business afloat throughout the rest of the year. Was speaking with an employee about a purchase and was shoved by a second one who needed to pass and couldn't bother to say "excuse me" - I did however receive a stern look at no charge. Walked outside, and the younger employees watering plants scowled as I approached to ask info on basic items. Got an exasperated reply when I sought the location of an item (my bad, couldn't find it solo). Shouldn't be surprised - if senior employees act as such, can only imagine how they treat fledglings. Been in customer service/retail for years, don't abide by "customer is always right" mantra in the least, but this...
