Rocky's Ace Hardware — Local services in Millis

We are regulars at Rocky’s in Millis. Rocky’s WAS our go to hardware store, until last night. I went into Rocky’s to have 10 keys made because we bought new doors. I met the man at the key machine and he started to make the keys. He was very nice and told me how much each key would be. I asked if I could shop around the store while he made the keys. He said, “sure” . I hovered around the key area, when I noticed there was no one making keys. I thought ok maybe he had to go to the bathroom. The man had left my new house keys out out the shelf. I kept waiting and waiting. Another woman showed up to get keys made . Finally she asked another employee stocking shelves if the man was coming back. The employee said that he went to sell someone a SNOWBLOWER! Ok I get it ! snowblower VS 10 keys more profit for the store and probably commission for the sales clerk! BUT He could have found me on the store to tell me he had something more profitable to do! I had waisted 40 minutes waiting for keys that I never got! I really only go here for the simplest stuff. Like lightbulbs or a paint brush. Aside from that, they just never have everything I need. I always end up going to one of the big box stores.

Additionally, the staff are not knowledgeable at all... I have never had a decent answer to any question I've asked in the store. And I understand not everyone in there will be knowledgeable, but it's a hardware store...? I would expect them to have SOMEONE on stuff who actually have some experience with the...

This review is about the service, My interactions with all the people there was good, with the exception of the old man who was trying to help me buy the stihl chainsaw, his services deserve no more than one star, especially when he hands me the saw after testing it in the back, dirty with oil all over it. A young man came to the rescue (Ron), took over to complete the transaction politely, explain to me how the chainsaw works, and answered all of my questions. Ron gets five stars...
