Worst most embarrassing experience of my life!!! I will never support or ship at Michael's again. Besides the awful customer service, (which I already understand is a dying trend in itself)... But to have six sheriffs show up behind me as I'm shopping within 5 to 10 minutes of me entering the store I was disgusted and humiliated for no reason whatsoever. One of those police officers claimed that there was a video he said no he can't show that to me but he was is instructed to escort me off the premise because he was told by the staff that I had been informed in the past they have no longer able to shop there for shoplifting. Never have I been told by anybody that I cannot shop somewhere because of shoplifting or any other reason for that matter. So you can imagine my lack of understanding and wanting to get to the bottom of the matter but my wants and wishes fell on deaf ears. I asked to see the video that the one police officer was talking about and I asked to see the picture that they said they had in the back of me and they said no they can't show me that..... Why can they not show me that if that's their proof that I'm a third or that I've stolen from them? I feel if they had evidence of me stealing they should be able to provide it to me and show me that they know that for 100% fact I was exactly the "thief" they're looking at because as a matter of fact I am not the thief that they were looking at or believing to have had that happen to their company. In fact I actually have a problem every time I go in there I spend usually around $100 after I'm done going in there. So I guess this is for the best for me and my wallet but for my sanity and my emotional well-being I feel very discouraged embarrassed, victimized and basically like I was just gossip or being stereotyped for how I look. The only reason I really chose to go there was because I had a $5 credit towards my next purchase and also because I'm at the highest tier meaning I spend a lot of money there in order to get 9% of whatever I spend back in savings. So in my eyes I considered myself a very good customer of Michael's, despite how much I did not appreciate how I was treated basically every time I went in there. I know when people are following me I know what I'm being looked at I'm not an idiot so why would I try to steal when I know that these people are watching me pretty much 24/7 in any establishment which they have the right to do but to embarrass me in front of the other customers and the employees is discrimination. And then at the end when I was leaving or getting escorted off the premises in the police officers words, I was asking if I can get the manager's name from a couple of the police officers there and their response was they weren't going to take the time to do that, but they had the time for 6:00 to come out just to escort me who has a broken foot and have had two back surgeries needing a third box surgery which is supposed to be a fusion. I have a disability and I was walking slowly through the aisles looking at the things that I might be able to purchase or that I might want but now I feel discriminated because of my disability and the way that I walk or carry myself and I'm very offended that I need to decided to automatically join forces with Michael's team members allegations against me and once I asked for proof no one could provide it and no one wanted to get or help me get the managers information. In fact once I was outside I called the store attempting to get the managers and information and the woman on the phone said the reason she couldn't give me the manager's name was because of the time of evening it was cause its late to give out that information...... What kind of answer is that? I kept asking her I don't understand that answer for that response that she's giving me it's too late to give me your manager's information? What does that mean exactly even? And then the customer service rep just decided to hang up on me stating if I really want to I could try to call back tomorrow. Which I will be, although I...
Read moreI'm so disappointed in Michael's right now. I've been happily shopping at this location for years...YEARS. This morning I went in to this location with my toddler to make several purchases. First of all, they've completely reorganized the store, and it feels disjointed. My toddler was walking happily along with me, but with the way they have reorganized, I didn't feel that I could safely keep an eye on my toddler and shop, and so I put her into my cart. She was not happy about this, and started screaming. I continued shopping for a minute to see if she would calm down. As I approached the next aisle I needed, I realized it was full of large boxes stacked 2 or 3 high, and one end of the aisle was completely blocked by boxes. I walked through a different aisle to try and get in the other side, and found that to be blocked on one side by a large ladder. There was an employee standing there and so I asked, if there was any way I could get into the aisle and get what I needed. His response? "I dunno, I'd like to know too." By this point, my toddler was starting to calm down, but instead of just walking away and finding the appropriate associate, or using a walkie talkie to try to reach someone, he walked up behind me and hollored at the top of his lungs in a way that indicated he was trying to "out yell" my toddler for someone's assistance on our aisle. The yelling frightened my toddler who immediately ramped up her screaming again. I gave up out of disappointment and frustration, put over $100 worth of merchandise back on the shelves, and walked out empty handed. I am the mother of 3 children, I know how volatile shopping with a toddler can be, and I understand that some may not feel tolerance toward a toddler screaming through the store (it's never really bothered me, I just feel immense empathy for both the toddler and the parent,) but I also feel like yelling over my child instead of walking away to find someone is highly unprofessional and inappropriate. I also feel like Michaels should consider stocking their shelves or moving products around the store outside of business hours. It's extraordinarily frustrating as a shopper to not be able to access the products I made a special trip to the location to purchase. I am a loyal shopper, I frequent Michaels because they have served me well in the past, and I hadn't planned to use the Hobby Lobby down the street when it opens in a few weeks, but if this is the type of experience I can expect from Michael's in the future, then I will likely take my business elsewhere...
Read moreY'all can see from my reviews that I typically don't bash a company about their customer service to people because I understand everybody has a bad day. I love this store, I love going there, I love their merchandise, I love their prices. I go there all the time to get my supplies for my crafts that I do want a daily basis. I also have young children that come with me everywhere I go. Currently we do not have a vehicle. My oldest son bought us an electric scooter. So I typically ride my youngest on the scooter while my 10-year-old rides his bike when we need to go places. Last week we went into Michael's and I just needed a pack of colored sharpie paint pens. Now please keep in mind that I have gone into this place with my scooter and my son on his bike, walking through the store- very politely and responsibly- multiple times. I mean multiple. Without any problem, anybody needing to talk to us or say that we need to leave them outside or anything we are very responsible with them, surprisingly so is my son he just walks with it beside him. We're always in there for like 10 minutes anyway, if that just pick up something quick. So I went in there the other day with my two kids and our scooter and bike and I was stopped as soon as we walked in the door by a worker telling me that we had to leave our stuff at the door and I'm like this is a $400 electric scooter I'm not leaving it at the door I came in here three days ago and you let me walk it through the store and I checked out with this very same person stopping me. Matter of fact they were the same one who checked us out 2 other times the week before and they were like no it's not ok. She even got on her walkie-talkie to ask if it was okay just so I could hear that this was a nogo. Well then I was like can you please just go get me the paint pens please and she very irritatedly agreed with the request but went to attempt to do it anyways and comes back with one black sharpie marker and I'm like I'm sorry ma'am I need the color paint pens, with all the colors please. She said, I got this black permanent marker that you asked for. So I'm like really? this is ridiculous I was just here three days ago they had no problem with my son and I going in the store with our bike and scooter but now all of a sudden it was absolutely out of the question and the only other idea they had was that I could leave my children (6&10) at the front entry with our equipment- like are you for real right now? you must be out of...
