🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫 ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ LATEST AND LAST VISIT!

It’s unfortunate Google doesn’t allow zero stars.

READERS, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED – THIS WASN’T JUST BAD SERVICE, THIS WAS PREDATORY BEHAVIOR.

My lunch visit on 9/26/25 turned into one of the most shocking and horrific restaurant experiences I have ever had. There were just two of us for lunch, my friend and I. Our total was $53.75 (honey walnut shrimp and Yang Zhou fried rice from the regular menu, plus eggplant with hot spicy garlic sauce from the lunch menu). I handed over $100 cash and was only given $46 back, NOT the correct $46.25.

It’s not about the missing quarter! It’s the intentional act of keeping customers’ money and immediately demanding more that makes this behavior so brazen and disturbing. This was not sloppy math. This was deliberate intimidation and outright extortion.

The staff hostilely and aggressively demanded a tip at the register, repeatedly pointing to the receipt and saying “it’s food total only, no tip included”, before I even finished counting my change.

They then escalated further, pointing directly at our table and saying “I don’t see cash tip at the table,” while continuing to demand a tip. This harassment went on for several minutes. Time felt like it stopped because we were both beyond shocked that this was happening at all.

I asked for clarification: “Do you demand me to tip you?” The staff repeatedly gaslighted me with, “I was just talking to you,” while still pointing at the receipt insisting no tip was included. We were a party of only two, there was no automatic gratuity, and the blunt entitlement was undeniable.

This is beyond unacceptable. I have been coming here since 2023, bringing family and friends, and recommending it to everyone I know as the best Sichuan cuisine in Portland. Recently, I even brought six friends for their first visit because of my glowing recommendation. After this, all of that goodwill is gone.

We left still in shock, horrified by the brazen entitlement, the harassment, and the deliberate act of keeping my change while demanding even more money. I have never experienced anything like this in any restaurant, ever.

To all future diners: you have been warned. Do not risk your time, money, or dignity here.

*2025-We were craving the Salted Egg York Shrimp with Shell, $28.95: it was delicious! You can order it without shell. This is the only spot we know of that offers this uniquely delicious dish. It doesn't come with rice so you have to order it, $1.50 for a cup of steamed rice. This is my biggest rant, Asian restaurants charge for steamed rice!!!!!

Wor Wonton Soup, $14.95: clear broth but a bit salty for my taste. I was disappointed that the filling was not mixed of pork and shrimp.

Green Pepper with Shredded Potato, $14.95: we still don't know what to make of it! It had a vinegar after taste, crunchy at every bite, a few pieces of green bell pepper to matched its name.

*2024-Don't let the strip mall appearance discourage you!

Salted Egg Yolk Prawns IS A MUST ORDER and dine in if you are a salted egg yolk lover!!!!! It is beyond this world with taste, texture, flavor, and balance that would leave you speechless with the feeling of joy in salted egg yolk utopia! My son and I ordered this to go for dinner since we live close by and it was still deliciously full of flavor when we got home. However, when we reheated the next day in the air fryer, the original taste and texture were no longer there. In short, you must dine in or eat it within 15 minutes or so to fully appreciate the mastery of this dish from the Sichuan City kitchen.

Sichuan shrimp fried rice was solid in flavor and texture, especially the rice didn't get mushy together. My only complaint is that they put canned spam in it and ruined it for me.

Overall, 4 stars for: Beyond this world-salted egg yolk prawn! Salted Egg Yolk on anything is definitely an Asian OG-acquired taste you grew up with. To master this with and on any dish is food porn! You have to eat it to believe...

My girlfriend and I have both been highly anticipating this restaurant ever since we first found out it was taking over the spot of our old favorite pho place (RIP). We came in around 4:30pm on the 2nd day they were open. It was nice, quiet and cool. Everything was clean and visually appealing.

Now I haven’t been to too many traditional Chinese restaurants but I knew enough about most things on the menu from experience and the server was helpful with explaining when we had questions. To those expecting Americanized Chinese food here, you won’t find it. But what you will find is reasonably priced items, a menu with plenty of options (even though it was only the soft opening menu, so it may change), filling portions and very high quality ingredients.

At first I was a bit put off by some of the prices, but the portions more than made up for it. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken with a side of steamed rice. My girlfriend ordered the Szechuan style dumplings, beef chow mein, and rain drop jelly for desert. We had so much food to share and still ended up going home with boxes of left overs.

The Kung Pao chicken was diced into bite sized pieces and mixed into a sauce with peanuts, green onion, ginger, garlic, Szechuan peppercorns (whole) and dried peppers. It wasn’t too spicy and left a nice mouth numbing sensation after a few bites due to all the peppercorns. I loved it. The steamed rice was only $1 and they gave you a good sized single person serving.

The chow mein was very fresh tasting. All the vegetables were nice and crisp, the noodles were perfect, just the right amount of sauce and a nice serving of meat. It was probably the best chow mein I’ve had in awhile.

The dumplings came in a bowl with roughly 8 or so pieces. But they were all quite large. You could tell they were fresh and handmade too. No premade stuff here! At the bottom of the bowl was a good amount of pepper oil and there were also crushed peppers sprinkled over top.

We will definitely be returning in the future as there are plenty of other items on the menu that intrigued us. I can see us becoming...

We order about once a week for take out as several dishes are cold dishes and make a quick easy meal when I don't feel like cooking. People giving negative reviews seem to fall in 1 of 3 categories: 1. "I like sweet and sour chicken from Safeway, THAT is Chinese food to me" This is reasonably authentic, so stick to McDonalds nuggets in sweet n sour sauce, maybe get a microwavable lean cuisine chickie chow mein. If you think PF chang's is A. good or B. authentic at all, this is not the Chinese you're looking for. 2. customer service is so bad - it isn't. it is, also, a bit authentic in the Chinese style - no nonsense, no chit chat, all business. I prefer it to fawning and forced conversation with a stranger, but if you're a shut in and desperate for the strangers who serve you to fain friendship - this is maybe not for you. 3. cleanliness. I'm not a fan of the whole Clackamas part of town in terms of cleanliness - it is clean enough, but it is not a chain and like many authentic Asian places - the focus is on the food, not the décor, or the experience. So if you're looking to go out for some good Chinese food, and the people you go with are the people you want to chat with, then this is the right place to try something new. (which is also my tip, don't order what you've ordered at your usual Chinese spots - try the cold chicken or beef dishes, jade tofu, pork ribs, garlic cucumber, chongking chicken and...
