Taco Del Mar — Restaurant in Oregon

Awful customer service. Was here last night for taco salad with chicken. Chubby girl with dark hair kind of snappy making my salad. After order done, chicken in salad was cold. Went to ask her if I could taste chicken in pots. She said no and refused. I wanted to know if temperature is up to standard. I don't want to get sick. She took a taste from the spoon and then wanted to give me some! No, it was just in your mouth!!! She would not let me taste the chicken, said I had to buy it !! Crazy!! Yes, because it was cold and you knew it.!! Unbelievable. I won't be back. Got my money back and will call the health department about their food practices. Learn food safety and health standards. Hope the owner sees this. Hire people who are qualified and care about serving food. Disgusted and won't ever be back for this rude treatment and unsafe food! And none of the food was covered with lids, sloppy food handling. I should have left seeing this in the first place. Get rid of these...

I have visited many Taco Del Mars in Oregon and Washington and this location is by far superior in every way. I have been coming to this location for several years since the other locations in Portland have closed. Despite other reviews, all food items are always fresh and hot, with the exception of items intentionally served cold (salsa and lobster). Out of hundreds of visits to TDM, this location has NOT ONCE disappointed (I can't say that for other TDM locations). Portions are generous, and you can ask for additional toppings. The taste and freshness can't be beat. Staff are consistently courteous and responsive. Prices are great, but I try to come for the Daily Specials. I would never go to any other restaurant or fast food chain. Why try "the rest" when you can...

What a disappointment this restaurant has become. Often only one employee working, and the line gets LONG! Used to eat here all the time with the original owners and it was great, when locations started closing and new ownership of this store took over a few years back things really took a slide. Owners family eating at a table with outside food they brought in and prepared right in the middle of workers making food for customers. Lots of light bulbs out, no background music, and filthy restroom. This location also doesn't participate in rewards program like other locations. Waited in line 20 minutes today and the worker had only made two small orders in front of me, just awfully slow. I had to give up and left, and I can say I'll...
