Ah, Taco Truck, the place where dreams of mouth-watering Mexican cuisine come true ā if you can survive the ambiance and service.
First, the food: Five stars, no question. The tacos are so good they might just make you cry. If taste buds could throw a party, they'd hire Taco Loco Truck to cater. Their carnitas are a revelation, the guacamole is smoother than a politician's promise, and the salsa packs a punch that could wake the dead. You might even consider selling your soul for just one more bite of their heavenly enchiladas. Honestly, if food was religion, this truck would be my temple.
But let's talk about the atmosphere. Three stars. Picture this: you're serenaded by the dulcet tones of nearby traffic and the occasional symphony of car horns. The seating is a delightful blend of "will this chair hold me?" and "do I really need a tetanus shot?" But hey, it's all part of the charm, right? After all, nothing says 'authentic street food' like a view of the parking lot and a whiff of exhaust fumes.
Now, the service. Also three stars. The staff are friendly ā when you can get their attention. It's a bit like playing hide and seek, but with your lunch at stake. When they finally notice you, they're great! Until then, it's a fun little game of "Guess who's getting their tacos last?" Pro tip: bring a book, or maybe a small novel, because you might have some time to kill.
In summary, Taco Truck is a culinary gem hidden beneath a charmingly chaotic exterior. Go for the food, stay for theā¦well, go for the food. Trust me,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSCAM ALERT ā¼ļø My family has been coming to this place for over a decade. I never imagined Iād be leaving a negative review for a spot that used to be our favorite go-to for tacos. Be on the lookout; the current staff are scammers.
First incident: I ordered 5 tacos ($2.50 each) for pickup with extra onions and cilantro. When I got there, the cashier rang me up for $12.50, but then she fiddled with the register and suddenly the total jumped to $20. I didnāt think much of it at the time (which is exactly what they want is for you to not pay attention). I paid and drove off, but later I started wondering if the prices had gone up again. I let it sit overnight.
Second incident: I ordered 5 tacos again (still $2.50 each). The cashier rang me up for $12.50, just like before, but when he came back to take my card, the total suddenly shot up to $25. I called him out on it, but he claimed it was an error with the register.
Takeaway: When you look down to get your cash/card, theyāll sneakily adjust the total on the register. Donāt make the same mistake I did. Weāre a huge fan of their tacos but itās a shame theyāve started this scamming practice. Will be looking for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe recently tried this taco truck hoping for a good, authentic Mexican meal, but unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience.
I ordered tacos al pastor, and while the flavor was okay, the meat was extremely greasyāso much so that it made the tortillas soggy and hard to enjoy. My husband got a carne asada burrito, but the meat was barely there. For the price, we expected a well-filled burrito, but it felt like mostly tortilla with a few pieces of meat inside.
We also ordered a side of rice for our kids, and honestly, it was some of the worst rice weāve ever had. It was lumpy, overcooked, and had no flavor at allādefinitely not the fresh, fluffy rice you expect from a good taco spot.
To top it off, we ordered horchata, but it was clearly from a packet and tasted artificial. It lacked the fresh cinnamon and creamy texture that makes authentic horchata special.
We wanted to support a local business, but the quality here was just not there. Hopefully, they can improve their recipes and preparation, because right now, it feels like a missed...
