I just spent 20 min helping a disabled person walk across the sidewalk in front of Hope Community. Four days ago we received 6 inches of snow. Rather than shoveling, as is required in Minneapolis, Hope Community left the hindrance for the dozens of people who use their sidewalk every day to navigate. So it's been stomped into solid ice. The small woman I helped had on a backpack and a duffel bag slung cross her back. With a cane in each hand she progressed at a rate of about 6 in./min. in her effort to get to the bus stop. I gave her a ride home, but there's no way she would've made it in time. Shame on Hope Community for not doing the bare minimum to allow disabled people to move about...
