One of my mother's favorite food spots. Kind of in a rough spot and the parking lot is usually pretty packed, but you can usually find a spot as people are going in and out. Some sketchy people sometimes, but haven't had my own personal prolonged run in over the many years. I usually go here to order their rice and sambusas. No clear menu which can make the process and offerings unclear for newcomers/non-regulars. (They used to have a faded visual menu on top of the register when you walk in. Unsure what happened to it). The staff are usually courteous and the rice and sambusas are always tasty. Very much organic, immigrant/Somali atmosphere and staff. My only gripe is I have had multiple instances where my order is incorrect when I don't do the due diligence of double-checking. I typically will repeat my order clearly MULTIPLE times to make sure the cashier has recalled my order correctly based on this experience. Not sure where the fall off happens if it's just miscommunication or forgetfulness on the kitchen staff's part as I know they don't use a ticketing system and communicate back orders in their native language; especially since they are always busy. Last week I went by to get a plate for my mother and didn't realize until days later when she asked for it that her chicken portion was missing. Makes it very annoying to recognize you're missing what...
Read moreThis place is so sketchy. You will never pay the same price. They will charge you double. They won’t offer you receipts and if you ask for a receipt, it will not be itemized, it will only have the total that you paid. They don’t have menus with the price on it. They charge $1 for hot sauce but the amount is never consistent, sometimes they’ll give you a couple of milliliters and other times they’ll fill the container all the way. If you try and dispute the price they’ll just raise the tone and talk over you, they’ll talk to their coworkers about your dispute but they won’t respond to anything you’re saying. If you want halal meat, it’s worth checking out, if you want halal business practices, steer clear...
Read moreNo menu and I ask for something, no price mentioned until after given and no option of size of meal. Kind of unprofessional, three people trying to help me order food because there is no menu. Not sure if all of them worked there. I prefer and recommend the chicago and franklin location, there they seem to transparent and ready to serve any and everyone. Also the location gets way too congestion at this time as well as typical somalian drivers...
