Thank you, Pursuit Hometel for being there for me at a time of need. I was down and out and needed help. I truly don't know where I would be today without your help and assistance. The staff has always been kind, thoughtful, and respectful towards me and others; and that's probably why I got stuck staying there so long. I got comfortable. However, with the encouraging help of Heather, John and Tegan l finally got my own apartment and a good job. Thank you all for mentoring to me. And I must say, I am doing quite well for myself.

It's people like you and places like this that are available to help those in need to get to the next level in life. If you're serious about changing! I'm living proof.

Writing as a resident, I think it is important for potential residents to remember that Pursuit Hometel though intended to be a drug and alcohol free facility, is a level 1 GRH housing center. That means three hots and a cot. People will find ways to break the rules even though security is provided, but it really is up to the lodger to remain strong in their recovery. Ask for the help you need, inform staff of infractions, and make requests for help with the outside recovery sources that you have. There is no on staff recovery counseling. Pursuit is meant to keep you fed and off the streets. It is not designed to guide you through recovery steps, that is your responsibility. I was kicked out for smoking in my room. It was not me but my room mate. He smoked weed and then a cigarette to try to cover up the smell. When all was said and done. My roommate stole a 55inch tv that I just bought. $5000. In EE USA saving bonds. They were hide in a computer tower I had in my room And almost everything else. When I went to get my stuff the staff gave me the run around. This is a half way house. That has gay guys acting like it's a McDonald's menu. Now there is cameras in every corner of the property. They have not found who stole my stuff it's been 1 year since. If you want a place to recover from jail or need a little help with life, this is not the place...
