Park Ave United Methodist Church — Local services in Minneapolis

I have been there once so far, Easter 4.17.22. It was the first time I felt good in a long time. Service included diverse worship (contemporary, alternative and a dash of rap), about 20 min of testimonies from anyone feeling moved, reciprocal Bible verse reading, and a moving and motivating message from the pastor.

I really appreciated the racial and cultural diversity. I have recently dealt with a lot of treachery and I felt safe at and event for the first time in a long time. I have been leading worship at Park Ave UMC for the Early Risers 8:00 service since 2015. It is an hour long service where you will experience a very intimate service that includes contemporary worship, and provide attendees a time to lift up personal prayers requests and praise reports after which the chance to hear some great lay-led messages and testimonies! Like the people a LOT, the pews are wood and if you have back issues it’s not easy to sit the entire service. I plan to bring a cushion next time. This is a very caring church, with AMAZING kind people, however I disagree with some Methodist beliefs (hence one star off), if my family didn’t attend…I would go to a non denominational church. They have some good snacks after service & they help people in need. They have a clothing store that’s very inexpensive or free for those who don’t have much money. God bless...
