I have gone here a total of 4 times within the past month to this location at the Midtown Global Market. Every time I leave, its such a frustrating disappointment! There is always things wrong on my order and the food quality is nowhere comparable to the taste and quality at the other locations. I am a pretty forgiving person seeing that it took me 4 angry experiences to have to say something. I even worked for them for a few years so am very familiar at how this food needs to taste. I am curious as to why there isn’t management here or to talk to level out these awful experiences. Me having Latina in my background I understand accents and can decipher through what’s being misunderstood. This was just complete neglect on their end! I ordered over lunch today and the order was repeated and clarified 3 times before the food was even paid for. This is because I was telling her my last order was incorrect from the other day, so she assured me that my food will be correct this time. The women preparing my food do not understand nor speak English, which isn’t an issue as long someone else can translate being that I don’t speak Spanish. So while they were giving me the food I specified the food requests once more and they said yes once again. I asked for ingredients to be removed for an allergy concern and toppings to be added which they charged and I paid extra for…..and of course the order was incorrect on both items! I ordered a burrito and a torta. The burrito was dry and didn’t include the extra toppings I asked for. I asked for no tomatoes for my allergy and there were tomatoes. I was on lunch and did not have the time to go back and wait for them to remake anything. Not only was it incorrect but I traveled two min away to Abbott hospital and my food was cold. EACH TIME I have ordered from this location (4 times) my food was cold by the time I got back which again is a two min commute back. But when I order food from the other locations I will travel farther than 2 min away and my food will still be hot by the time I get home. This was again a complete waste of my money, my time, my lunch, my energy and just overall makes me hate coming there overall. I won’t be back period.

We went to Taqueria Los Ocampo in Minneapolis, and the experience was honestly disappointing from start to finish.
After placing our order, we waited a full hour to get our food. During that time, many other people were clearly upset complaining and just showing frustration. One specific couple was clearly upset letting them know it was ridiculous waiting an hour for an order of three tacos. The place wasn’t busy—no crowd, barely any takeout pickups—yet the staff barely called out any order numbers, and it felt like nothing was moving.
I ordered the quesabirria combo with consomé, and it was not worth the wait or the price. The flavor was okay at best. The consomé tasted like pure vegetable oil with some onions, cilantro, and a splash of hot sauce—no depth, just oily.
The prices were extremely high for the portion sizes and quality. The chicken was also ok, but nothing that justifies the cost or the hour-long wait.
On top of that, the place was dirty. We had to clean our own table because no one was walking around to wipe anything down. It looked like they expect customers to pick up their own food and clean up after themselves—and if you don’t, it just sits there for the next person.
Even the restroom was an issue. It was locked with a code, which is fine, but once we got in, it was filthy—trash on the floor, water everywhere, and it looked like no one had cleaned it in a long time.
Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience: long wait times, small portions, overpriced food, and a dirty environment. Definitely not planning on...
Read moreAlways a great place to go, and lots of options, including vegetarian choices. Loved their enchiladas, it's too bad those are off the menu now! Note that the pictures in this Google listing are somewhat misleading and reflect three different versions of this restaurant in completely different buildings. The original building was a standalone restaurant at Lake and Chicago -- pretty packed inside, lots of orange/yellow colors, flags, decorations, etc. That building was torn down to make way for an apartment block, and while construction took place the restaurant moved several blocks east to a temporary location on Lake and 15th. The temp location was pretty white and sparse inside, not as much decoration (Viva Mexico wall decals), windows only along the front of the space. Finally, once the apartment block was finished at Lake and Chicago, Los Ocampo moved back into the ground floor of the new building. Any pictures with red neon signs, white subway tile, or a long counter with a long row of orange and white menu boards are of the new/current location.
This just means that many of the photos that Google includes of this location -- including some of the featured shots -- are of restaurants that no longer exist, and in some cases, a building that doesn't exist. The current location looks shiny and modern and somewhat more industrial than the others. The food is good as ever and well...
