My boyfriend and I recently checked out Thurston Jewlers to get a gold chain. I’m allergic to sterling silver and just needed a nice chain to put charms on without having issues. Upon walking in, both of the owners were so wonderful. They pulled out a bunch of options and let me try on all different types. There’s an incredible spread of selection if you’re looking for necklaces—not just chains but also with pendants and what not! After selecting a chain I liked we had a great conversation and came to know them as 37-year owners of the building. They’re as local as it gets!
Of course, that night I messed up and caught the chain on my hand and broke it. I was devastated and a little embarrassed but decided to go back in & see if they could fix it. Not only did they offer to fix it, but they also let me try some other options that were a bit thicker and a pinch shorter so that I wouldn’t be as likely to snag it and could hang larger charms if I wanted. I found the perfect one (for my very clutzy self) and they swapped it out with my broken one for free, with no worries about the one I broke or charges to get it fixed. It was so wonderful to interact with such kind people—who are still giving and wonderful despite being robbed. I will most definitely be back and encourage others to...
Read moreI purchased a Moissanite from Thurston Jewelers and it looks beautiful! Lloyd and Kathy are extremely kind and helpful, ensuring that the right ring for you and your finance is found. They have hundreds of options to see in person. They were very pleasant to deal with and honestly a head over the competition from that perspective (as well as affordability).
I had sales people from other jewelers give me grief about going an alternative gem and they didn't blink an eye when I mentioned it confirming the decision I made to go with them. They want you to be happy with whatever ring, gem and budget you choose. Educating you along the way so you feel comfortable with the decision you are about to make.
I'll be a customer of theirs for the rest of my life, regardless of the type jewelry I'm...
Read moreI would not recommend this jewelry store to anyone African American as my 60 second interaction with the owner left me disgusted.
Lloyd, immediately upon seeing me treated me like a black thief who should not be in possession of the very valuable, piece of jewelry I was having him appraise it's value.
I am a home improvement business owner, founder of a domestic abuse non profit organization and while my I intent was to purchase several thousand dollars worth of jewelry from Lloyd I'd never do business with someone like him who makes rash judgements about people simply because they are black.
I also hope my fellow African Americans will also stay away from this jewelry store because I'm my opinion Lloyd is if not racist, definitely prejudiced against...
