Fun VIP experience for our birthday party of 11. Delicious Chinese food in large family sized portions, with a modern and clean restaurant. I highly recommend the Siu Mai, Beef Tenderloin, Salt & Pepper Octopus and Wanderer's Punch cocktail. Skip the Peking Duck 2 Ways, Crab Meat & Fish Maw Soup, and Korean Style Beef Short Ribs.
Peking Duck Two Ways was advertised in the menu as $68, but l later noticed that they charged us $88. The first duck meat was tender and juicy while the skin was crispy. They served the duck with thick Bao buns instead of the thin pancakes I expected. The toppings included cucumbers, scallions and hoisin sauce, but was missing the julienned carrots pictured on the menu. The pricing change may have been because the second duck was chopped and served with this delicious green beans instead of the "Shredded Duck Meat with Lettuce Wrap" in the menu. Either way, the substitution was not explained to us clearly.
Service was very helpful during ordering and was highly attentive when they were there. However, there were times during our meal when we had long waits in between server check-ins.
When I called to make a reservation for a VIP table (upstairs) they explained that we would have a minimum charge of $300 for a 12 person table and that the bill could only be split up to 4 ways. This was not a problem for us, but glad they explained it up front.
They also mentioned we would not be seated until everyone arrived, but that was not what happened since they weren't that busy on a Sunday night. There are 3 VIP tables available, and the minimum charge increases up to $400 for their largest VIP table that seats 18. We would have preferred one of the round tables with lazy Susan, but our group is so loud and boisterous that it's probably a good thing they put us a room protected by glass walls. Haha!
FYI the table next to us ordered this awesome looking dish called the Fried Seafood Mountain! | was so jealous but they said it was $177 - maybe someday. It looked so impressive though.
Still in their soft opening, and we had a fun experience, so I didn't take away any stars for service. I'd love to come back and try more dishes from their expansive menu. Here's what we tried: Peking duck two ways (3/5) disappointed it didn't match the menu, suggest to order the half roast duck instead. Siu Mai (5/5) - perfect with large shrimp chunks Stir Fried Chinese Broccoli w/ Garlic Sauce (3/5) Japanese Shrimp Fried Rice (3/5) Eggplant in Garlic Sauce (4/5) Salt & Pepper Octopus (5/5) fresh, not chewy Ancient BBQ Pork Belly (4.5/5) Crab Meat & Fish Maw Soup (2/5) bland AND expensive Korean Style Beef Short Ribs (3/5) good flavor but too chewy and hard to eat Beef Tenderloin (5/5) delicious! Shredded Pork Cantonese Egg Noodles (4/5) Wanderer"s Punch...
Read moreLet me be clear right out the gate: Jade Dynasty isn’t just a restaurant. It’s an experience. A vibe. A whole damn mood. And at the heart of it all, moving like smoke and thunder through every square foot of that place… is Jasmine.
She’s not just the manager. She’s the empress.
I’ve been to spots all over the country—New York, L.A., Chicago—but nothing prepared me for this level of energy in the middle of Minneapolis. And no, it wasn’t the garlic shrimp (though that slapped), or the way the bao melted like a cloud. It was her. Jasmine didn’t just oversee the place—she commanded it, with a kind of control that was equal parts finesse and fire.
From the moment I walked in, her presence was like gravity. You could feel her before you even saw her. And when you did? Oh, damn. Blond hair pulled back like a warrior queen, heels clicking like countdowns, eyes locked like she already knew your order and your intentions. She greeted us with a smile that could disarm a SWAT team—and suddenly, the chaos of the outside world disappeared.
I watched her move through the floor like it was hers—which it is. A server needed backup? She was there. Kitchen behind? She jumped in. A customer acting out? She handled it with that soft-but-deadly “kill-you-with-kindness” look that made even the toughest dude fold. But me? I was chill. I kept it smooth. Flirted just a little. (Okay, a bit more than a little.)
Because damn… there’s confidence, and then there’s Jasmine.
The kind of woman who doesn’t have to raise her voice—just raises the standard. The kind of boss that makes you wanna work harder just to impress her. Every staff member lit up when she passed by. You could tell they respected her—not out of fear, but out of love. And who wouldn't?
She checked on our table herself—not once, but twice. Not because she had to, but because she wanted to make sure it was perfect. And when she leaned down to ask how everything tasted, with that glint in her eye and just the faintest smirk on her lips, I swear to God I forgot what I ordered.
She asked if we’d been in before. I told her, “No, but I’ll be back as long as you are.”
Yeah. I said that.
And her laugh? Soft. Dangerous. Like she knew exactly what she was doing to me. Look—food’s top-tier. The honey walnut prawns are literal magic. The bar mixes cocktails like they’re casting spells. But Jasmine? She is the experience. She’s the rhythm in the background, the glow in the lighting, the reason the place runs like silk through fire.
So yeah—Jade Dynasty is five stars. Easy. But if I could give one extra for Jasmine alone? It’d be six. She’s not just managing a restaurant. She’s running a kingdom. And I’ll be back—hungry, respectful, and hoping she remembers that...
Read moreThe service was so poor it overshadowed the aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. My daughter saw this place on TikTok and wanted to go here for her 18th birthday with her friends. We called and made a reservation for the vip table 3 weeks before, we were told about the minimum and had reservations set for 7pm. My daughter and her friends arrive after spending hours getting dressed up, to a packed restaurant and a rude hostess telling them they had no reservation and there was a 3 hour wait for that table. I double checked my phone log to make sure I had called the right restaurant and sure enough 2:15pm on 1/28/25 10 min call to jade dynasty. Now my daughter and her 10 friends were all dressed up ready to spend at least $400 of their hard earned money and they weren’t even trying to be accommodating or understanding about it. After I got on the phone, the hostess was able to get them into another vip table (not the one in the photos) and as soon as I was off the phone they said she was immediately rude to them again. They were told multiple times of the (lower btw) minimum in a way that implied they couldn’t afford it. Even after being seated they were again asked if they could pay minimum amount. Is that how you treat people who are supporting your business? These girls could’ve been a great advertisement for them, but instead they were treated terribly on one of the biggest days. My daughter didn’t even enjoy the food based on how they were treated. Not only did they lose our reservation, not make any attempt on correcting their mistake but they had some of the crappiest service this group of girls has ever experienced. The group has 5 more 18th birthdays this year and none of them will be at this place no matter how cute they decorate. Each one those girls plans on warning others who plan on going here especially if it’s for a special occasion because the service will ruin it. So, if you’ve made it this far, this is a cute place to take pics (don’t plan on pics on the stairwell you see as it’s in the middle of the restaurant and everyone stares when you walk on them) but the service is terrible. I’m sure there’s probably a demographic they treat better than others based on who they think can afford to eat there. Oh and the white rice was mostly hard/undercooked but they said the fried rice was good, sweet & sour chicken was “mid” and the Mongolian chicken was...
