2 stars ONLY for management not having enough workers per floor & not in any hurry to fix the elevator - be nice to post an apology at each entrance that elevator is down so they don't find out the hard way like we all did. For employees - 5 stars
This was 2nd trip in same week & both times as busy as store is, only ONE worker (plus cashier) per floor & they're so busy trying to be in 10 areas it's hard for them to help everyone who needs, yet every employee was pleasant, apologetic & smiling at all times. The elevator is out of service & according to another frustrated customer, has been out for over a month.
We're disabled older adults & having the elevator out of service (apparently for more than a month According to another frustrated customer who can't use escalator) is totally unacceptable. Further, the carts which most of us need to shop are all sitting in the back corner by the non-working elevator.
First visit I had to go retrieve a cart plus we had to leave store & drive to lower level door to finish shopping while a customer graciously took our upstairs merchandise to lower level for us & then it was a long wait to check out.
This visit, we came to exchange 3 items so we parked at lower level & an employee was at the door & went to find a cart (outstanding) - after finding right size went to the long checkout/return area & again, both cashiers were smiling, apologetic & genuinely happy to help despite cranky &...
Read moreI have been a customer for JCPenney for forever. So I understand recent issues with being understaffed. Has a loyal customer I was more than understanding by waiting for forty minutes to get help at the jewelry counter. I had found multiple sets of jewelry and pieces I wanted. After seeing that Heidi ( an older blonde woman) was going to be busy for quite a bit longer I approached her only to be disgustingly and blatantly disrespected. To have an employee turn her back to you, ignore you, and so obviously move away from you was horrifyingly disrespectful. I went to approach again assuming this wasn’t the case. I was incorrect. Has I walked up she motioned for a nearby woman to block my path and when I went to address Heidi around her I was told by Heidi that she is busy and I will need to wait. Please understand that that alone embarrassed and disgusted me. I finally had to let her know that I can see that she is busy and wanted to know if she was the only one available or if she could call for help. She yelped no and once again turned away from me. If this wasn’t the only store to have the earrings I need I would have left. I in no way wanted to give the store my money. Thankfully a manager came to help me only to have Heidi basically refuse to give the manager her keys. After her show of both her ignorance and vile behavior I purchased my earrings in almost 10 minutes compared to the hour given to her customer. I would give ZERO...
Read moreAttempted to purchase some things. First I found some shoes, but for some reason my size, and only my size was on clearance, and the clearance price was $27 more than the sale price for the other sizes. Herb, the "sales" associate confirmed the price, and when I asked why, he said he didn't know, but there was nothing he could do about it and no one he could call. Fine, I guess. I then attempted to buy two shirts with a gift card I had received from work. Herb said he had never seen a gift card like it and it couldn't be entered in the system. I have used gift cards like this multiple times. I again asked if he could call someone to help him, and he told me I would need to go to customer service. When I went down there there was, of course, a long line. I want JC Penney to stick around, but I totally understand why the are having problems if this is the service...
