The Pocket is such an amazing place for anyone who loves trading card games—or even for those who are just starting out like me. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt super chill and welcoming. No one expects you to be a pro here, which really helped me feel comfortable as a beginner. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to explain rules, give advice, or just chat about the games. The open lobby is perfect for practicing and playing casually with others, and it’s awesome to see so many different games being enjoyed—Gundam, Pokémon, Lorcana, and more. Their tournaments are also very beginner-friendly, with a judge present to keep everything fair and fun, so it never feels intimidating. Plus, the prices are really good, which makes it easy to come back often. I also love that they’ve thought about the little things—there are clean restrooms and snacks available, so you can stay comfortable and keep playing for hours. Honestly, The Pocket is more than just a TCG shop—it’s a community space where people of all ages can come together, learn, and enjoy the game. I’m still new, but I already feel at home here.

Pros: Excellent little place for the community. Frequent update items to purchase for multiple Trading Card Games: Pokemon, etc. Amazing employees; Tommy and Leo with a patience on teaching kids how to play Pokémon TCG. Cons: Julian says it’s a little cold in there. I personally think ambient temperature is just right given the RGV heat. Overall: Highly recommended!!! This is a community-owned, friendly, open and safe little Pocket store for us to enjoy. Shop local and support small businesses.

The pocket is a great store run by very friendly people especially the owner Leo. It’s a great place to come learn and play Pokémon TCG (or any Trading Card Game) as well as buy any cards you need for your collection. They always have new products in stock and great prizing in their tournaments and you can always make a new friend or two! :)

This may be a small venue but it’s definitely feels quite comfortable to be. The owner Leo and patron Tommy was very courteous and was very excited to see new people come in. I recently got into Union Arena (Bleach : Thousand Year Blood War)(English Version) but was very reserved on how to play due to not knowing the game itself nor its rules but Tommy was patient was me and taught me what I needed to know to comfortably play the game. I definitely will be going back to enjoy a good game and possible be tournament ready soon. Thank you so much, Leo & Tommy. It’s people like that in which I feel will make this small business grow and...
