I went to the Kohl's in Missouri City Texas to pick up a Bulova watch that I had ordered on line for same day pick up at that store. I arrived at the store and went to the online pick up window and they promptly brought me a bag with the watch box in it. I pulled the box open to confirm that the right watch was enclosed and the watch simply fell out of the box onto the counter. the cushioned watch holder was missing from the slot in the box and the watch had simply been tucked into that slot. none of the accompanying papers for the watch were included such as the warranty pamphlet and the user manual. In addition, upon closer examination of the box, label was attached to it indicating that it was a box for an entirely different watch that was twice as expensive as the one I purchased.
When I inquired about this the lady at the online order pick up window first said that I would have to deal with it online. I reminded her that this watch was not ordered and shipped to the store it was ordered as a same-day pickup of merchandise that was already at the store. She's then sent me to the watch counter to talk to them.
At the watch counter I was initially told that it is Kohl's policy to throw away all of the boxes and that when a watch is sold the buyer does not necessarily get the accompanying paperwork and usually does not get the accompanying box. In my view this is a very poor indication of how a merchant deals with its customers. Fortunately I was able talk to another lady at the watch counter who said she had been working at Kohl's for 14 years and that it is Kohl's policy to not retain all of the boxes and to recycle the boxes. She was very helpful to me and was able to produce both a warranty pamphlet and a user manual pamphlet. Were it not for the help and attention that she provided, this encounter would have been enough to give me second thoughts about making purchases from Kohl's, and certainly I would not have made any future online purchases from Kohl's. I certainly don't expect to pay the money that I did for this new Bulova watch and have it handed to me, loose, in a box that was from some other watch.
Although I only gave Kohl's a two-star rating for this encounter I would give the lady who finally helped me a five-star rating. She represented Kohl's well, and saved at least one customer...
Read moreIt was our first time shopping at Kohls and we saw a Super Mario shirt online that we wanted to get for our son's birthday, all the stores in our area didn't carry it but it did say that the Missouri City location had them in stock, but before driving all the way over from where we were which was about an hour and a half Drive I had my husband call while I was at work to find out if the shirt could be put on hold, he called me later on that day and informed me that the associate Yasmine (didn't hear her name clearly) said that they did not have the item. I wouldn't had him call after work to ask them why it offered the free pick up at the store if they did not have the item in stock. I spoke to the associate Yasmine & was told that she would go check and for me to call her back. I am formed her that I didn't mind holding so she left a check and then the phone hung up on me. I called back later and spoke to an associate named Ashley, who wasn't entirely informed about what I was Looking for but was at least able to try to assist me, she then transfer the phone over to Yasmine who then answer the phone saying that my husband had called earlier and she told him that they didn't have the item and that she didn't know why I was calling again. Still calm but upset knowing that you don't speak to customers this way I asked her if she had any Super Mario shirts for toddlers. She told me that they didn't carry Super Mario for the little ones and then I asked to be transferred over to a supervisor. Jackie was very helpful and assisting me and provided me with the number to call about the shirt I was inquiring about and overall the situation was solved. I then drove down to the store and picked up my shirt and went ahead and looked around the toddler section only to find that there were at least five other Super Mario shirts in that size I was asking about. It is extremely disheartening and upsetting to be a new customer to Kohl's and having an associate not even Make the effort to look for an item that they clearly have. I didn't form Jackie about the issue and she did assure me that she would take care of it. I myself working retail and understand that you may not have the time to look an item up but to be blatantly told why I call back and lied to about having merchandise that they clearly had was...
Read moreUpdate: I informed Kohl’s customer service. They were NOT concerned at all. Beware, check your credit.
I normally go into Kohls to do Amazon returns. Every blue moon I see something worth buying. WARNING: Beware of Light Skinned flamboyant male associate. He seemed to be using deceptive sales practice. I am an Accountant, former sales tax auditor. I usually can spot deceptive business practices. I visited the store Tues 3/10/20 @ 10:50 am. While whispering in my personal space, He was Attempting to sign me up for a Kohls credit card and saying it’s “pretend” while bad mouthing the store prices and asking for my driver’s license at the same time. He said that he would put in his email address and apply some discount. But then he asked for my drivers license and the keypad showed Application Inquiry (something to that effect). When I questioned the reason for my license, he stated it’s pretend. Please beware. I do not know how you can ask for driving license info and pretend to fill out credit card application. I told him no. Buyers Beware. I’m not sure if Kohls’ management is aware, but this did not seem kosher. It didn’t make sense for him to talk about discount when I had already handed him the 20% coupon that I received from my Amazon return. Has anyone else had...
