Brandani's = Our favorite place to dine in the Sugar-Land/Mo.City area. They have two restaurants at the same location right next door to each other, one being casual and the other upscale. i.e... Brandani’s Burgers, Tacos & Brews - or - Brandani's Restaurant & Wine Bar. My wife and I find ourselves eating at the Burgers, (etc.) several times a week, sometimes for lunch, sometimes for dinner. That's how much we liked it.
But... pick either one for a first-rate dinning experience. They are so different from the chain restaurants and lunchrooms around town. We just love them. The owners, managers, and staff are so accessible, polite, and helpful … and the food's great. It's just a high-quality experience all around…
The best way I can describe Brandani's is that it’s a little bit like if you were out shopping for a car and you test drove a bunch of noisy, clanky skateboards, and then got in the seat of a more refined ride … You can immediately tell the difference. I think it's about comfort, fit and finish, and quality materials. That's the best analogy I can give you.
I'm pretty sure that my wife and I are not alone in our opinion. People come there because it is conducive to conversation and relaxation. You actually can hold court and not have to struggle to be heard, even if its a big table full of friends trying to discuss whatever topic-du-jour. There is no loud blaring volume of a TV or music trying to force you out the door. It’s comfortable.
Everybody there is well-behaved: Moms and dads, Nana and Papa, and grandkids will all sit around the table ... and the whole scene is just pleasant as all get-out. Good friends will meet there in the afternoon and set outdoor at a table and sip wine or what have you. It is just that kind of place.
The Township Square Shopping Center is nestled in the quadrant between Highway 6 on the south and FM 1092 to the east, and Brandani's is to the back of that shopping area. As a result it gives it kind of its own isolated and exclusive environment. Believe what I'm saying; just check out the rides when you go through the parking lot… you'll get the picture.
Also the entire shopping center is in the process of being renovated. The local Houston artist , David Maldonado, has just completed a massive mural on the Township's iconic tower. (see photos)
I think eventually the Township is going to be a really, really nice shopping/dining location. I just hope it doesn't get all too popular so we can still get in the door, haha. No I wish them the very best; they're good people. They deserve success.
My wife and I are glad that the Bradani's restaurants survived the Covid quarantine, because if we had lost them it would have...
Read moreI'm compelled to proffer five stars (something I typically reserve for extraordinary food) because of the combination of good food and extraordinary service. Initially, I had specified that a food allergy required the exclusion of one ingredient, so I might try a recommended sandwich. This, after being declined a hamburger as I had ordered it: "we can't serve you a rare hamburger..." "Okay, tell me what sandwich you'd suggest." Several minutes after all others at my table had been served their meals, a server arrived with a sandwich I hadn't ordered, explaining that this was an alternative, since the kitchen couldn't risk serving me "something that might contain butter, cheese or milk." I was mystified by this, since I had never indicated an allergy to butter, cheese or milk. My food allergy to the Initially declined ingredient had to do with a preservative often found in that specific ingredient. Meanwhile, I was being served a sandwich other than what I had ordered, without any prior consultation.
I turned down that dish...politely, of course. In a few more minutes, a gentleman arrived tableside (the manager, chef or owner, I guessed) to ask what he could do. I explained that my food allergy had nothing to do with dairy products and he kindly returned with the sandwich I had ordered...a sandwich that ultimately proved exceptional. Thereafter, our already good service was nonpareil (look it up) and we completed our meal both satiated and impressed.
I'll be certain to recommend this eatery to my friends, and look forward...
Read moreRecommended to me by a friend, it was a good choice. It has the ubiquitous shopping center burger joint layout of an ordering counter, drink station, and 4-tops. For all that, the atmosphere is pleasant and optimistic. . I had the Brie & Candied Bacon Burger featuring candied jalapeno, candied bacon, and arugula. I found it flavorful, if a little salty. My wife thought it slightly spicy, which I didn't. Speaking of her, she had the Brandani Cheeseburger with cheddar, house sauce, house made pickles, onions, tomatoes, and shredded lettuce. I certify that it was also delicious. . We shared an order of fries, which was plenty for both of us. They are the 1/4" square, short kind that aren't my favorite usually. These were well cooked and they weren't afraid of a little salt: good job there. Bland fries are a current fad that I am pleased they don't follow. . Service was good. The manager was bussing tables and greeting clients. I declare him a treasure in this climate of lazy managers. Brandani's had another, full-service restaurant two doors down. I watched the manager note that a couple was waiting for a waitress and personally walked them down to the right restaurant. That is good, meaningful service. . I'll be back, because I enjoyed...
