AFRICAN - MARKET Sahara Supermarket — Local services in Mobile

When is this place ever open? Google and the sign on the door says Mon-F open at 10 am. I came yesterday at 10 am, when it is supposedly open, the business was closed. I came back today, at 10 am, no one is there. I called and the owner text me back saying, "Please text me." I asked what him, "Are you open today?" He replied, "About 25 minutes." Okay, that conversation happened at around 10:05. 10:30 comes around, no one is here. I went to the store and came back, it's now 11:30....STILL no one here. This is actually my third time coming here. I believe I came last month, maybe around 12 noon, again no one is here. So, I'll just go elsewhere where my time and money will be appreciated. I don't live right up the street to keep coming back here and no one is ever here.

UPDATE 12/6/2024: Wise guy, I see....why would I leave a review from 12 years ago? And if they weren't supposedly open the day I texted, why did I get a response from the alleged owner stating they'll open in 25 minutes? Because the number on the door and listed on Google are the same. But, now you're supposedly "open and up running?" Oh okay....and I don't need queen treatment from here, I'm already royalty. And I'm very intelligent, I know how to read and comprehend and I can clearly see the products through the window that belongs to THIS particular business, not the business owners from 12 years ago. Another reason to stay away from this place, because I see this "business owner" tries to gaslight you and they're condescending. One of the best African markets I've been to in Mobile. They have a great variety of things in store. Cookware, serveware, African clothes, shoes, jewelry, food( goat,fish, vegetables, rice, etc, spices), snacks & drinks. They have great customer service. They take cash, credit and ebt cards. I cant wait until my next trip to try something new ! I will definitely be frequenting this store .

I found an amazing mop there...

Stopped at this nicely located grocery store today with my family. We were greated by the owner with a pleasant smile. Had lots of varieties of African and Caribbean food. The prices were reasonable. The store was very clean. As we were travelling in the hot summer, the owner presented everyone with some cold bottled water for free. We will be back to shop some more....
