I just realized that Iāve been a loyal customer of Mobile Records Alabama for 10 years, yet Iāve never left a review. So hereās a recount of the things Iāve loved most about this place for the past decade!
Knowledgeable, kind, and loyal staff: The same 2 guys have always worked the front counter wearing smiles. They recognized me when I walked in today, even though I havenāt visited since last Christmas! They know literally everything about vinyls, equipment, and music, and they give great recommendations. No such thing as too many questions for these guys. Itās very easy to see that theyāre passionate about what they do and about making people happy.
Bang for your buck: Their 25cent sales are beyond awesome. Along with boxfulls of 25c LPs, Iāve scored a Chicago live box set for $1, and Iāve gotten free empty sleeves to hang on my wall. They even gave out grilled conecuh sausage one year! But even when thereās not an event or a sale, the prices are fantastic. They have an extensive selection of pristine records for $10 and under. I got a $3 Heart album today that doesnāt skip a beat (haha!)
Customer satisfaction: Years ago, I got one record that skipped incessantly, and they let me exchange it for something else and refunded me the difference. Iāve never had an issue since, and now I know thereās a listening table in the back, so I can ācheck outā my potential purchases before I even bring them to the counter. Today, they gave me a discount for using cash, and they also threw in a complementary cleaning rag with the logo printed on the front.
Iāve had a fascination with vinyls and turntables since I was a very young girl, so Iām very grateful that I stumbled upon Mobile Records as a teen, which allowed my fascination to turn into a collection, a hobby, and a passion. Thank you Mobile Records for making my life SO awesome for 10 years, and many more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you love old music, are into vinyl or memorabilia, and haven't been here, you will enjoy reminiscing through the jam-packed place. Main guy in the store is super knowledgeable, engaging and helpful, and will let you hear a track or two. He keeps a local section, and has a good knowledge base about local music history in many genres. There are a lot of accessories related to vinyl, such as one of those little things that goes in the middle of a 45 to play it on a turntable. We pulled out Granddaddy's old 45s for the teen who is discovering vinyl for the first time. You can sell your old records, too! He knows exactly what the market pays, or will look it up. The place is drowning a bit and looks like it could use a few more people hours, but the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI drove 2 hours to this store because of the good reviews and highly knowledgeable staff. They weren't wrong. Walked in and there was an array of vinyl and accessories eveywhere. Everything you can think of. Had a really good selection- stuff I couldn't find anywhere else. Keith and Nick were friendly and actually thought me something about wax pressing on a Tracy Chapmin album. If you do go there, make sure you dedicate some time to look because they have everything and they have some of the best prices I've seen at any store. I would highly recommend going there and this won't be the last time I drive that far for good selection...
