Back in April, I went to pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2. After waiting in line and finally getting inside the store, the employee told me I couldn't place the pre-order unless I signed up for a GameStop Pro membership. Seriously? What kind of shady bullshit policy is that? Begrudgingly, I signed up for the unnecessary membership and fully paid off the console that same day.
Fast forward to the midnight launch. I arrived two hours early to be first in line, hoping to grab my console quickly and make it in time to pick up my wife from work. The release was set for 11 PM, and she gets off at 11:30.
Once inside, I handed the employee my receipt, only to be told I hadn’t paid off the console. I calmly explained that I had, but instead of resolving it, they told me to step aside so I wouldn’t hold up the line despite being the first one there. I ended up waiting while more than 15 people went ahead of me before they finally gave me my console.
Easily the worst customer experience I’ve had. The employees were clearly untrained and couldn’t care less. I even contacted GameStop Corporate about the situation, and they were just as unhelpful.
Bottom line: avoid this GameStop location if you value your time and sanity. You’ll have a much better experience literally anywhere else....
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. As a Veteran I hold a certain amount of integrity. Upon walking into this GameStop to purchase 2 Nintendo switch games and a memory card. The cashier BILL was very indifferent with me from the beginning. With little help I still bought the 2 games and card with my debit card. After the transaction was finalized, I simply ask BILL for change for a $20 bill. He says sure, I hand him the $20 he looks at it, puts it to the light. Then throws is on the table and says it’s fake (I just pulled cash out the ATM). Me being taken aback I stumble my words trying to explain to him that it’s real and that he should use the counterfeit pen on the register and he proceeds to pick up the telephone and calls the cops. The look of anguish and disgust I saw in this clown BILL face as he was calling the cops on me was unbelievable. I took my belongings and just left considering I didn’t want any confrontations. But after the fact I wish I had stayed and stood my ground. I will never be going to this GameStop again. I called the GameStop customer support and reported this incident but I hope all my brothers and people who stand for unity to never go to this establishment again especially if...

He brought it home and tried to activate the game on my grandson's brand new switch. The code was barely legible and could not read it. It finally told them they had exhausted all the tries to enter the code. He took it back to Gamestop to get them to help and they said it wasn't their problem that he would have to contact the manufacturer. And it was Gamestop's scrappy printer that didn't print the code properly. So now my son-n-law is spending his afternoon trying to get in touch with customer service to see if they can resolve the issue. I will not set foot back in that gamestop. A $30+ game and they did want to make good even though the game was just bought there...
