Me and my wife was looking to buy a new mattress for our bedroom and also a sectional for the livingroom, as we walk into Hank's Furniture, we was greeted by Arthur Mackie, he pretend to be nice, when my mattress arrived, it was hard to sleep on and it was the wrong mattress, I call back to Hank's Furniture and they said that the mattress company probably put the wrong Mattress foam inside the mattress and said they would replace it with the correct mattress but it will take awhile due to covid, therefore come back in in a few months, so after 6 months we call to speak to Mr Arthur and we waited on the phone for 30 minutes and no one never came to the phone so we went back to Hank's Furniture to talk to Mr Arthur Mackie, he and his staff walk past us as if we didn't exist, no one would talk to us, they walked past us and helped the 2 families that walked into the store after us, so therefore we stood around for minutes 45 and no one helped us, earlier in this post I said that Hank's Furniture had nice furniture with nice people, I was wrong, I apologize to everyone, so therefore I deleted that comment, I'm editing that comment to correct what I said, do not go to Hank's Furniture, the furniture and service is not good, like people say'" you pay for what you get"", listen everyone, if you want great quality furniture that looks good with great service, go to Haverty's Furniture, the service is great and the furniture is even greater, I promise, you will not regret it, if you don't believe me, do this one thing, take 1 hour of your time, spend 30 minutes in Hank's Furniture and walk around looking at the furniture and inspect it while you are there, then go to Haverty's Furniture for the next 30 minutes and walk around and inspect the furniture, you will see with your own eyes about what I was saying, my pastor always told me to see for yourself, so therefore I'm telling everyone so see for yourself, you will not be disappointed on the quality and service, go to Haverty's Furniture, great furniture just like Rooms To Go, just 1 hour will be the difference between being...

We usually buy higher end furniture but due to pets and children in diapers we decided to buy from a big box type of store. We originally went to Rooms To Go. We will pay the furniture off within a couple of months so we applied and got credit from Synchrony Bank through their website and they offered 5 years interest free. We went into the store and after a long time settled on a sectional then we spent more time making sure the measurements would work, only to find out part of the sectional wouldn't be in stock for 6-8 weeks. We need it by mid June so they took our info to call later.
We then went to Havertys. We found a couple of sectionals that would work. They were a little more expensive but we didn't care. We told the lady we were approved through Synchrony and asked if we could use it there since they use the same bank. She said no so I told her I would call the bank and she kept insisting that they were seperate companies and she didn't think it would work. I knew it most likely would work so I let her speak and we left to go make sure the measurements of the sectional would work.
We then decided to stop by Hanks. It was about an hour before they closed on a Saturday night. Arthur was there and helped us. By this point we knew what we needed and wanted so he directed us to a few pieces that fit our description. We found a sectional we liked and asked if it was in stock. He said it could be delivered in about a week! We decided this would be the sectional we bought. We then told him we needed to call Synchrony to find out if we could switch our credit from Rooms to Go to Hanks. He immediately let me know I would not need to do that because the credit would work at Hanks, Rooms to Go and Haverties!!!! He was very knowledgeable and not pushy, which I was worried about before we walked into the store since I had never been there.
I'm glad we stopped by and discovered how great Hanks Furniture in Mobile is. We will definitely buy more furniture from them in...
Read moreUpdate #2: decided to lower to a 2 star. It is 4/16/25 and still no sign of furniture. PAID in FULL on 2/2/25 and went in to get refund so that we could go somewhere else to BUY furniture outright and was told that we could and WOULD only receive HALF of our money back. We would not get the whole $3900 that we originally paid due to them having to order the recliners that they were supposed to already have in the warehouse in Arkansas. So a couple of weeks ago we finally got someone on the phone and we were told our furniture would be delivered by 4/18/25. Today we were told it was going to be 4/25/25 before we would get our furniture. This is the worst outfit as far as small time store, meaning not some big conglomerate type store, to deal with. They will rip you off if you pay upfront and can't get your furniture on time. Then they will continue to lie to you telling you any date to try to satisfy you. Just ask for Daniel in Mobile, AL. I can honestly say I will NEVER step foot in Hanks Fine Furniture store again. It's not the "FIIIINNNNEEEE" way to do business. My love for the Hanks is gone!
Update: Had to lower my 5 star to a 4 star. It is 3/19/25 and still no furniture. Cant get anyone to return my call. PAID in full for the furniture on 2/22/25. Not sure what the problem is but i will give you a little longer to get me what i paid for. By the way, my man Cedric is gone. Wonder why???
Very clean furniture store. Greeted by Cedric, my own personal entertainer, who was super friendly, had great knowledge of his selections, showed me what I thought I wanted was not the right fit for me at all and set me up with the perfect set. Y'all, if you ever shop at Hanks Fine Furniture, ask for him. He was super. Other staff members were also friendly and helpful. Prices were comparable to other stores maybe better because of no tax weekend. Loved my experience of shopping at Hanks! Now, to receive my furniture!! ...
