I think that their customer service sucks. They never want to return anything and give you the correct credit. The other day I was insulted when I tried to return something that I purchased on my EBT card. I had didn't have my receipt. They told me that they couldn't return it without the receipt because I had an EBT card. But unlike some people to just go in there store without any receipt at all. They get a gift card. For the prices of merchandise. And they don't have to prove that they ever even bought there. The only good thing is is that you can always call the corporate line in the customer service reps really try to work with you and help you. I think that the location in West Mifflin near Kennywood is very racist and they don't have any black employees. The ladies that working there or rude to the blacks and they talk down to you. I was trying to return something one day and the lady made a remark about food stamps. And then she looked at me when I try to talk to her and said by the way I'm talking in a rude way. I am yet to call corporate about this store. I heard anyone that goes into Giant Eagle and then feels mistreated insulted or disrespected to ask for their corporate number hold on to your receipt, and call them and let them know everything. Corporate will really worked to clear whatever problems that it is. I think that their corporate office is the most efficient and professional office I've been around in a long time. But if you get hurt in their store for any reason., there claims supervisor is one of the meanest women I've ever met. She will do everything she can to try to keep you from filing a claim and get compensated for it. I think that they need someone else in that position. But one thing about giant eagles are wheelchair-accessible. They give free drinks to Veterans. And they provide you with a very competitive choice of food letter organic and natural. If you can get past the rude cashiers. The disrespect that you might receive from some of them that are racist. Then I hope you can manage to have a good experience. I have been shopping at Giant Eagle ever since I can remember I am now 58 years old but there have been many times I've had to return very bad prepared foods. I ordered you to ask test any food item that you're buying. It's not a good feeling when you buy something take it home and you're hungry and you find out that the quality is terrible. Good luck and be. And don't believe everything...
Read moreI would rate this Giant Eagle much higher if it wasn't for the people in customer service. They are always miserable and rude. My last experience there I was in the self checkout line and I noticed I forgot my Giant Eagle Advantage Card and as I was trying to look it up in the computer system a nice cashier (young gentlemen) came to help me. He told me that he would just use his Advantage card and I could take my receipt to the Customer Service Desk and then they would transfer it to my personal card so I could use the fuel points. So I was thinking this was going to be an easy transaction and not take me very long, WRONG! The lady in customer service kept rolling her eyes at me telling me she doesn't know who told me the wrong information but there was no way she could transfer points that way. She was not willing to help me and she was completely ignoring the fact that I just spoken to someone who told me that she could do it and long story short it took about an hour to get her to finally call a manager over to help her. When the manager came over she was quickly able to fix the problem and showed the other lady that gave me such a hard time how to do it. The customer service lady did not ever apologize or even acknowledge that she was wrong and still continued to be rude even after the problem was fixed. Honestly for that kind of customer service I should've just went...
Read moreI recently tried the curbside express service at the Giant Eagle food store in Monroeville PA. You have to place your order online either prior to the day you want to pickup or at least 4 hours before the pick up time You select. The service is free the first 3 or 4 times you use it. After that I think it is like $6.00 for the service maybe cheaper if you place your order the night before. They will even deliver the food to your house for an approximate fee of $12.00. when you pick-up your order you enter store near pharmacy They will total your order and after you pay they will take it to your car and place the groceries in your trunk or backseat. They accept cash and EBT food cards. Keeping in mind that this was my first time, I was surprised at how many items they had to substitute. You can elect not to substitute items that they do not have. The only thing I was disappointed in was when choosing my items I was not shown choices for many of the items. I don't mind Giant Eagle brand for some things, but most items I could select were Giant Eagle brand as we're the substitutions. The lady who took care of me was absolutely wonderful. Trish was very busy, very pleasant and very helpful. She was instrumental in this being a positive experience for me. I would definitely like to recommend this service and I...
