Honestly, these apartments are beautiful and when I lived there for two years they were reasonably priced for the amount of amenities you get. That is just about the only reason I gave them even two stars. I could not have had a more difficult time with management. Our first night in the apartment all the bathtubs backed up with raw sewage, and it took us far into the night to fix the issue, and we were never offered clean up. . There was a ton of accounting mistakes that made them believe that we owed them extra money, even though we had always paid them our full amount for rent. It turns out part of our initial move-in payments were lost. When I explained this to the landlord and upper management I was shut down. They had apparently kept no records of our payments and since we couldn't provide them a direct proof of payment ( even though this was impossible seeing as how they required it to be paid in money order for initial move in) they threatened to evict us despite the massive amounts of proof we provided. They were difficult and non-responsive on other maintenance issues and in the end did not adhere to move out protocol listed in the lease and in CA Tenant-Landlord Law. I have been moved out for over a month and have yet to receive my security deposit or even any correspondence about where it could be.
I am telling you, I was someone who thought I would just keep my head down and live here just fine, even if the management wasn't the best, but this is not the case. He puts everything on the apt management to handle and just collects checks and raises rent. He is the text book definition of a SLUMLORD! If you want to live with cockroaches and air conditioning units that are old and instead of replacing and updating he just swaps and then you know he is charging for the other unit having a new ac instead of just doing what is right and replacing the outdated and barely functional unit and still charging you and future residents! He also never replaced my unit bc it was still “functioning” but not working it was like having a fan not an ac and I had to run up my electrical bill bc he was too cheap to do what is right and then still has the audacity to raise rent. The kitchens and floors are disgusting and outdated which makes up keep harder and more expensive so you end up paying for it not him. There are sinks and tubs falling out of their placement bc of caulking and then the roaches come in. The plumbing is always breaking. The laundry is so expensive for a load and barely cleans your clothes that you should go to a laundromat. Therefore, any amenities that they promote I would not take at face value. Why do you heat a pool in the summer and not the winter??? These are just a few of the problems living here. The tenants pay for everything for the whole complex including trash, water, sewer, water heating ect. This manager could care less that there are plumbing leaks and sprinklers being left on day and night, trash piling up and neighbors coming into our complex to throw their trash in our bins. When we brought up our concerns to the manager about the rising bills and her poor work ethic, she threatened to call the police on us. When I asked fer her supervisors name and number she refused to give me the information and said I would have to send her
my complaint in regards to her and she would forward it to her supervisor. Needles to say she never sent it. She takes no accountability, since she isn't being supervised she thinks she's untouchable. Save yourself the frustration and rent elsewhere. We were also told the manager before her was stealing from the tenants as they create and divide the bills amongst the tenants. ( we never see the original bills).
