Customers be warned. I am not a fan of writing bad reviews, but this could not be ignored. I walked in today, October 6th, to pick up my first Too Good to Go order from Ironbound Market. I was wearing a jackolantern tee shirt. A man with glasses said hello to me, then not even 10 seconds later he said, "Isn't it a little early to be wearing that shirt?" I said, "Um no, it's October..." Then he started backpedaling, saying in so many words that he guess he started it (the Halloween season etc.) by putting all of the pumpkins out. I said to him, "Yup!" I then went to the main register and asked the woman where the Too Good to Go order pickup area was. She pointed a little further back and said that a woman over there would help me. I thanked her. Still feeling irritated by the man's comment, I said to him, "You do know that it is October 6th, right?" He said, "Oh, you're pulling out the calendar now?" Then he made a comment in so many words like what's next, wearing Christmas stuff? Does he live in Montclair? Does he realize how many tons of homes already have their Halloween decorations up? I told him that because of his first comment about my shirt, that I don't think I will be coming back there. He said he was sorry, that he was only joking, but that I didn't have to come back there. Thanks, guy. I think this man seriously needs some sensitivity training. First off, you don't judge a customer of your store by their clothing (I am guessing he is a part of the store as he was busy talking to the other staff members). I basically felt criticized, and not welcome, by his so called joke. Some may say this is taking things too far, however in the business world, you really have to be careful what you say. The women seemed nice, but unfortunately his vibe ruined it for me. My first and last...
