I relocated from Florida but I’m originally from Hawaii and Jamaica so I love dim sum and Asian food but can’t find much authentic Asian foods/grocery stores in FL. I live across the street from this place; it’s next to GW Grocery (an Asian grocery store with fruit, vegetables and fish selections that remind me of my islands). The day after I flew in, my boyfriend and I ordered a little of everything from here for breakfast. Everything was delicious. I especially missed having rice wrapped in lotus leaves but I definitely like their steam and fried buns. My eyes were bigger than my stomach the first time so I didn’t finish everything in the photo in one sitting. What we didn’t eat that morning kept well and lasted for about a week. I work from home but I often skip lunch so these are great to heat and eat between tasks. We’ve ordered delivery from here as well as gone there in person. I recommend in person ordering if you are a visual person but beware: everything looks great so you’ll end up ordering more than you intended! The staff are patient if you don’t speak their language; you can point without being misunderstood. Although there are small tables and chairs inside, it’s too small a place for staying to eat. I recommend getting what you want to go; it’s packaged “to go” anyway. Anyway, everything is delicious here so I highly...
Read moreOcean Island dim sum offers the same products as any other dim sum place that offer push carts except less staff means the more you can save on the overall price. With that being said if you just want dim sum without the white cloth table setting and tea service then this is the place for you. You walk towards the back, look at the menu, on the bottom left of the pictured item you will see A or B. on the top right in green you will see the price for A and B… decide what you want, when its your turn they will let you know. If you are taking to go then come anytime but if you want good dim sum and a table remember early bird gets the worm!! (pssst.. 3 tables only at this restaurant)
If you don’t know what to get, this is what you should try..

Read moreGreat dim sum to go with Chinese BBQ options. There is no place to sit so strictly to go only, utensils and napkins are not provided. Lots of steam dim sum and fried dim sum or bakes pastries options, you can see the vast options behind the glass display. Many non Chinese speaking patrons such as Filipino, Indonesian, Mexican, Caucasian and etc... simply point to choose items that they want and they shall receive. They might be a line out the door but it moves fast like a well oil machine, so don't be discouraged. The Chinese BBQ is a lot better compared to Ranch99. The food is actually surprisingly good! Some of the items taste a lot better than dim sum from Capitol or even NBC seafood. It is located right next to GW supermarket. Parking can be tricky on the weekends. This place is always busy for a very good reason, worth...
