If you’re anything like me and just need a quick break from reality now and then, Cottonwood Golf Center in Moreno Valley is the perfect spot. It’s a quaint little 9-hole course that doesn’t try to be anything more than what it is—a relaxing, low-key place to enjoy the game and unwind.
What makes it extra special for me is that two out of my three lifetime hole-in-ones happened right here. That alone makes Cottonwood feel almost sacred every time I step on the course. It’s where some of my best golf memories were made, and that kind of connection is hard to beat.
The course itself is well-maintained, easy to walk, and just fun. Whether I’ve got an hour to kill, want to get a few swings in, or just need some peace of mind, this place always delivers. It’s not flashy, but it doesn’t need to be—it’s golf in its purest, most enjoyable form.
Cottonwood has this calming vibe that’s hard to find. Every time I go, I feel like I’m stepping away from the noise of life and into a little pocket of peace. And for me, it’s more than just a golf course—it’s a place I’ll...
Read moreThis course is a hidden gem! My daughter just made the high school golf team and I have been bringing her here to practice her skills. I just bought her a new set of clubs and this is the best place that she can play over and over again with out spending a lot of money in the process. We love this 9 hole par 3 course with 1 par 4 where you can break out your driver. There are not many par 3 courses in the area and it is much easier to play than a 18 hole regular course. If you are intimidated to play at a big 18 hole course in front of a bunch of people than this is the course for you. I have seen all kinds of players and skill levels here and always had a great experience. It’s a great place to practice your short game and putting. You can use your hole range of irons to work on your placement. The course is not manicured, but for $6 bucks for kids to play you can’t beat it. Watch out for the ducks and turtles on holes 8 and 9. I highly recommend this is a great way to spend a couple of hours having fun with...
Read moreMy wife and I played here yesterday and had a ton of fun, and $14 for both of us?! Can't beat that!! Great place to bring someone to learn, most holes are about 100-120 yards from the whites and 80-100 from the red tees, with a couple a bit longer and one that's about 240 yards. Definitely don't come here expecting pure greens, they were exactly what $7 a round of greens would be. But again, you are coming here to have fun and work on the short game. If you have kids, this would be the best place in the area to teach them, better than Van Buren. Last 2 holes even have a water feature which was a nice touch.
The guy working there said they are raising money to put some bunkers in so that will add some interest to the course.
If you are new to the game or are just wanting a round that's even cheaper than a bucket of range balls....just head over and take a great walk around...
